2 Kings 2:23-25
23 From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking along the road, some youths came out of the town and jeered at him. “Go on up, you baldhead!” they said. “Go on up, you baldhead!”
24 He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse on them in the name of the Lord. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the youths.
25 And he went on to Mount Carmel and from there returned to Samaria.

BTW. I am picking certain passage for pointing out certain things. You will notice that I am not just blindly posting bible passages.
Ok well I chose scriptures that I liked ,meant something to me personally.
Don't worry I gotta scoot soon anyways...
Sorry I didn't mean that comment towards you. I was just saying that I am posting certain things to point out certain points.
My apologies.

Exodus 6:19-20

20 Amram married his father’s sister Jochebed, who bore him Aaron and Moses.
Leviticus 20:19

Numbers 3:40-41
40 The Lord said to Moses, “Count all the firstborn Israelite males who are a month old or more and make a list of their names. 41 Take the Levites for me in place of all the firstborn of the Israelites, and the livestock of the Levites in place of all the firstborn of the livestock of the Israelites. 49 So Moses collected the redemption money from those who exceeded the number redeemed by the Levites.
50 From the firstborn of the Israelites he collected silver weighing 1,365 shekels,d according to the sanctuary shekel.
51 Moses gave the redemption money to Aaron and his sons, as he was commanded by the word of the Lord.

Exodus 33:20-23

The white shirt black shirt thing is already won, I just think it is a bit much to write 30 or 40,000 posts.
25-20.
White shirts in favor. Nice to see such good sportsmanship so far. Havent had to call a single foul, yet.
Will it still be 20-25 if I list a few thousand at a time for the black team, or do I have to post them separately?
He is counting them as individual Earnest
Separate posts, earnest. the rules clearly call for 1 credit per post and no additional comments. But I think you've already figured me out here.
OK. Thanks Jonathan, I will pass.
Those who have read both OT and NT thoroughly and cross referenced them will already know that the odds are so far in favour of the black it would be like shooting pet ducks in a bathtub!
Yeah, this beast is getting bigger by the day.
By beast I mean the thread of course
Earnest, personally I thought it was a good matchup just for the arguments that are generally brought up in the forums. I wanted to see who on both sides was really passionate about studying OT&NT and how it formed their beliefs and such. I figured everyone would feel silly after a while and we would all have a nice laugh about it. Little did I know people would end up having a rational discussion or two thus far exceeding my expectations.
It's like . . .
It's like a miracle, earnest!
And thus the reason I chose to post the passages I posted.
i've been followin this one since i found it this am and to be honest,... it would have servd me far better had i been paying att to the actual scripture refferences and the point made with them,,, but my facination has been with the civility,.. the knowledge based exchange,...
its all been a pleasurable change of pace from what i normaly see here. thank you soo much for this,... it was fabulous from the box seats.
I cant believe it, myself. I created this contest thinking everybody needed to blow off some steam. Turns out, people were dying for a valuable exchange. I couldnt be more pleased, and I was half-expecting this would end up more monstrous than some had feared. Its so great that the participants involved have chosen this path of respect and civility. Like I said, it is far beyond my expectations.

Does this count?
"The belief in "god" seems to be ubiquitous through the ages.
We know, for example, that the ancient Egyptians believed in their gods so fervently that they built massive structures like the Great Pyramid -- still today one of the largest and most enduring human constructions ever created. Despite that fervour, however, we know with complete certainty today that the Egyptian gods were imaginary. We don't build pyramids anymore and we do not mummify our leaders.
Source: http://godisimaginary.com/i3.htm
Great wonders indeed. But oddly, most pyramids -in Egypt and many parts of the world were panteón (cemeteries), not temples of worship. Think Inca/Mayan, who built more pyramids than the Egyptians. In actuality, one such relic was built less than 1,000 years ago and is one of the largest in history. ( sorry, architecture has always fascinated me ).
Watched a documentary recently on the Mayan people-Amazing!.
I was all ears when they mentioned the connnection to the Indigenous trible I am from too (NZ Maori) and it seems many offshoots of races seem to trace back to the Mayan.
I spose logically thats a given ,but really interesting to see how they connect the dots etc.
You seem to have skipped over the fact that even the cemeteries as you call them, were designed to ensure the afterlife of those who had the money and power to be buried with all the trappings they needed in the next life.
It is still all about worshipping a god.
Guess they thought they could take it with them -from pottery to servants. Also I am aware many sub-cultures of Arabia believed in the ability to exist between worlds.

The beauty of this exercise is that all of the participants have shown that you can have civil intelligent conversation if you simply respect one another. I have really enjoyed it and thank everyone for the respect they have shown to one another. Our leaders and the rest of the world could learn a lot from this group, whether you agree with each other or not you can have intelligent conversation. Great job to everyone!
