Right now Peyton Manning is a trending Twitter topic -
Unfortunate but it is now official: Colts QB Peyton Manning will be on the sidelines in Week 1 versus the Texans.

The last time someone other than Peyton Manning started at quarterback for the Colts was Jim Harbaugh on December 21, 1997.

Sorry Ron. . . but Im thinking maybe now it is time for you to root the Jets on with me .........

You know I root for the Jets anyway.  If Collins can just keep them at 500 for a few games, we're still OK.

The lockout did Peyton in....and it makes you wonder why the waited so long to have the neck surgery.  He had the surgery in May....his last game was in early January.

Forgive me for jumping in here, but two things come to mind -First about the Colts.  The truth of the matter is Peyton is more valuable to his team than any other player on any other team in the NFL and it will be proven as he will more than likely be out 2-3 weeks, maybe 4 and during that time the Colts will go 1-3 as they will lose to Houston, Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay (the former and latter games on the road).  Peyton comes back, but here's the thing ... they are still deficient at HEAD COACH.  Caldwell is a lousy game coach, makes bad decisions and Indy is regressing.  Sure, everyone will blame Peyton being out for the teams slow start, but sooner or later, it will be known that this is not Tony Dungy's Colts anymore.

As for Revis, I'm somewhat sold, but I need to see a full season from him.  He wasn't his 2009 form last year and perhaps it was due to the holdout and then the hamstring, but I want to see him back to his old form or he's nothing to me but a one year-one hit wonder, no matter what his "peers" are saying.  One year does not a career make.  The Jets are my AFC pick to the Super Bowl, but they need the Revis of '09, not the Revis that reads his own press clippings and listens to his "peers" instead of playing to his pro-bowl form.

revis is good but that fact that he's ny makes him better then he really is. Because so many ny based media people say so. Corners like samuel, rodgers cromartie, cromartie, talib, awesomwa are just as good if not better. Collins wont help them to 500 the colts will have to rely on there d and there d is .......

The fact that Darrell Revis's PEERS in the NFL----> and that covers all 32 teams .  .not just NY  .. thats right the current players themselves ranked this CB  the #8 player in the top 100 players in 2011  .  last I looked the closest CB that ranked was Charles Woodson ..  you can check him out in the #12 possession.

Tell me optimus grimlock .. do you know any other player in the game that has their own Island. .. ? And trust me here in NY land rights dont come easy  . .

Do you have any idea how much higher and harder they set the bar in the Big Apple?.  Its has to be the toughest media, making it one of the hardest places to play for, and the fact is if you dont perform here you better be prepared to be heavily scrutinized.

      CHILD PLEASE!

He made up his island and not all corners have the ego revis does. That was my point that because media in ny is so powerfull they make him the best corner in the nfl but it doesnt mean he is! Just making a point not taking anything away from Revis.

KC did a pretty good job when Young went down...it was actually the downfall of Young with the Titans...Don't think KC will have the same impact on Peyton.  At the end of the day, he's old, but capable.

A report just came out that Peyton underwent another neck surgery today.  I'm afraid his season, possibly his career, may be in jeopardy.  I'd like to see the Colts make a move for Carson Palmer.  http://www.indystar.com/article/2011090 … dyStar.com

Before I say anything, let me wish a speedy and full recovery for Peyton Manning. A neck injury is no joke, and I'm praying for him.

Michael Lombardi on NFL.com reported that  Manning underwent 3rd neck surgery this morning.

About an hour ago Chris Mortensen - ESPN Senior NFL Analyst tweeted that Manning actually just got out of surgery. No plans for injured reserve as doctors monitor fusion result, per sources.

      Such sad news . .

I'd say it's 50-50 he EVER plays again.  You can't "tough it out" with a spinal problem.

Mike brown has palmer on lockdown so its a longshot. Garrard would be much better then collins if peyton miss 6-10 games. You might as well let him take the yearoff.

He'd deal if the deal was right.  Garrard doesn't seem to have his head right, and Caldwell is not the kind of tough disciplinarian needed to correct his attitude.  Palmer would be amazing in the Colts system.

I just dropped Manning out of my draft because reports said he is out for two months.

    Go Jags!
