   The software for the forums provides plenty as is. This subject was brought up to the community in the past and if you feel like, you can search using the little white box at the top of the page and find the forum posts with regards to it.
   
   The community has shot it down. Hubpages isn't a social networking site and as far as I can tell, that hasn't changed. It's a writers site.

      Chat moves fast Ray, which is what is different than a forum. Chat doesn't need to be refreshed, and the forums do. Yet, another difference.

     very few worth  listening to.

    I have so much trouble keeping up with chats. The forums are much more organized and you don't have to stare at one screen for hours just to keep up. My vote also goes to no~

    they did change the format of threads so you can opt for either by responses or chronologically (I think that's the way it is) so that any thread can kind of serve like a chat room.  We chat all the time in places like the "last one to post" thread and "banned because"  and there used to be a "Hub tribe is forming" thread which lasted quite awhile -  mostly we just act silly on those threads.  So you're better off posting specific threads for the topics you want to discuss (and obviously, when you look at some of the ones that exist, you can post just about anything that ain't too bad or porno or some such!)  anyway, have fun - we're all fun to talk to even if we are writers.  I mean, just because we're writers doesn't mean we don't like to chat and act out - in fact in days of yore there used to be some very funny chats (when we were young and foolish, I guess)
