My 8 month (20 0dd post) old blog just went from PR-N/A to PR-3 in 15 days in which I have been TOTALLY inactive!!! Anyone else notice anything strange?? Really curious.

Weird.  That's pretty insanely quick to jump up in pagerank like that.  Don't question it, just go with it smile

Well, they may have just updated page ranks, which they do periodically.  Haven't checked to see if any of mine have changed.

Yes, sorry, should have clarified.  I just assumed you were looking at the toolbar, which only updates periodically.

Sorry about that, Maddie.  I meant to direct my post to the OP, but I see now that that wasn't clear.  I thought anish might have been interested in some of the points mentioned in that other thread (it was all new to me too), and I was too lazy hmm to do more than link, submit, and run.

Thank you for this great link. But it brings me to the issue of PostRank. I have never heard of it before. Does it really work (as in increase traffic) and how do you increase your postrank?

if you want to get benefit from this page just update the content and create some back link for this page. You can add some affiliated link or add their if you want some extra cash

Sorry, anish, I haven't checked this thread again until just now.

Post Rank is another type of measurement of interactions all around the web, primarily through social media.  The concept was founded (as a company) by a Canadian group and it was recently purchased by Google.  Their website is here:
    http://www.postrank.com/

From their "About Us" page (maybe not updated since they moved in with Google):

So, in a way you could say it's a measurement of what people are talking about on the Web.  The best way to increase PostRank then, I assume, would be to write terrific, engaging content that will interest people and get them talking, liking, tweeting, and +1-ing.
