Some failures that would have been successes are in states with "Amazon Laws" like Colorado, North Corolina, Rhode Island, New York and perhaps now California. Losing my Amazon revenue essentially killed the business I built up in Colorado because Amazon fired 4000+ affiliates in Colorado.

Always keep track of what your state legislators are doing, contact them and protest any IDEA of Amazon type legilation. Please read my hubs for more in depth info. Good Luck!

By fail,do you mean not make large sums of money?
Everyone has their own goals..it take time to build up a business.
Sometimes I get sales tight away...and other times it come sin dribs and drabs

    Three reasons:

    1. Writing for the wrong audience. For instance, if you write about how to fix your new sony television, the audience will be users who just purchased a TV - therefore you have no chance of selling them another one, do you?

    2. Choosing niches that are saturated. Keyword research is important - you need to find a small niche with high conversions.

    3. Looking unprofessional and like you're pushing a product, not developing trust with your reader. If your whole review praises the product to the heavens without a single negative, or doesn't give any bare facts, people are less likely to take it seriously and go elsewhere.

Wrong way: (Product) is easy to use, cleans anything and makes your life 100% better!
Right way: (Product) is great for cleaning floors and walls, especially in hard to reach places. It works on almost any surface, although I've found it does leave streaks on mirrors. However I've also found that it cuts down cleaning time by at least half compared to the (comparison product) I used to use.

I agree! Awesome response. Two thumbs up!

Just want to add two ingredients-- passion and patience.

      Exactly!

The wrong way is what a salesman will say, and I expect them to be completely ignorant or the product and to lie and tell me whatever they think will make a sale.

The right way is what someone with experience and knowledge of the product will say.  Someone more interested in actually helping me make a decision than selling something.  Probably not true, but at least it sounds better! smile

I use some testimonials in my affiliate websites and it works...but I am being truthful...I think some people may go overboard and praise the product as a new miracle..
I  started using the keyword academy trial and wonder if it's relevant since Google's traffic is so erratic...

I like the Keyword Academy, I have learned a lot about keyword research from them.

I think some people aren't willing to put in the effort to really make a quality, informative site.  Because of this, no one really wants to go their sites and they don't get any affiliate fees.
