   Harry Reid says the private sector is "doing just fine" with jobs. HUH???? He doesn't realize that the private sector has lost 3.5 million jobs since 2008??
   
   I swear, most of our politicians - from both sides - are so far removed from everyday American reality...

            As is so often the case, Habee, I agree with you.
            I came to like Reid a lot more during the budget standoffs with Boehner.
            When he was basically Pelosi's wingman I didn't like him.
            Like him more now.
            Can't explain better than that...
            Very, very glad Sharron Angle didn't defeat him!

               Another Democrat I like A LOT - Ed Rendell. Why doesn't he run for POTUS?? Oh, and I love James Carville! lol

                  Carville's the best. I can't believe he's married to Mary Matelin.
                  But hey, Bill Maher used to date Ann Coulter, so I guess political opposites attract!!
                  
                  Maybe Rendell will run in 2016.
                  I'm still holding out hope for Hill to be the surprise Veep replacement in 2012.
                  Obama's pretty cagey. I wouldn't put it past him...

   I've been saying it for two years now.....both sides are just utterly ridiculous. And, Ron Paul is just a fruit cake with an agenda. So, that makes all three parties worthless.

   We first turned to data collected by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the federal government’s official source for employment numbers.
   
   We’ll start our analysis in June 2009, which represented the official end of the most recent recession -- the point at which job numbers typically begin to recover.
   
   Here are the net increases between June 2009 and September 2011 for three categories of jobs:
   
   Total jobs: increase of 841,000
   Private-sector jobs: increase of 1,413,000
   Government jobs: decrease of 572,000
   
   And here are the monthly averages for each category:
   
   Total jobs: increase of 30,035 per month
   Private-sector jobs: increase of 50,464 per month
   Government jobs: decrease of 20,428 per month
   
   Here are the same statistics for just the past year:
   
   Total jobs: increase of 1,319,000
   Private-sector jobs: increase of 1,636,000
   Government jobs: decrease of 317,000
   
   And here are the monthly averages for each category over the past year:
   
   Total jobs: increase of 109,917 per month
   Private-sector jobs: increase of 136,333 per month
   Government jobs: decrease of 26,417 per month

   With Federal cuts to gvt, they are laying gvt workers off left and right. Yes--that's the GOP plan for jobs: Put more people on the unemployment line. Oh, and then vilify them when they ask for help. And, as we have experienced here, in my town....make life harder on mom and dad and kids. Cause YOU KNOW...Russssshhhhh just HAS to have that x-tra 2 mil. We, as Americans must sacrifice our kids and parents for the Richistans. HAVE to do it....just have to.

      I was wrong about the 3.5 million - the number is higher. According to Politifact, in 2008, there were 115,562,000 private sector jobs:

      If my math is correct, that's a loss of 6,062,000 private sector jobs - under the end of Bush's term and up till last month of Obama's. I don't know how many farm jobs there are. I'll see if I can find that.
      
      Found it! According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are 2,256,000 farm and agriculture-related jobs in the U.S. Add that number to the other private sector jobs, and that results in a loss of 3,795,000 private sector jobs since 2008.
