I hate all of them, but yeah the dance ones especially, the only one I occasionally watch is Big Brother, but that one's dangerous because once I start watching it I can lose months of my life watching a bunch of obnoxious people sat around not doing much at all, so I don't even start now!

Sure, why not, I'm not sure it would make the TV show any better though.

The Indian version is called 'Big Boss' maybe that's better, that could be a man or a woman.

I wish there were more real shows, sitcoms and dramas. But I have to say that there are a few reality shows that I like: Top Chef, True Life, and Intervention. I guess the more educational ones are to my liking, not so much people sitting around, or getting into fist fights, etc. I'm not a big one to enjoy the created drama of other people's lives. True, issues, problems, and ideas and how people work to solve them or create is my kinda reality show.

Car Crash TV. Great for when you're feeling low and need to look at someone else and think 'what an arse/fool/loser', then tell yourself what's right with your world, despite what may be currently wrong.

And you will always have the advantage of feeling superior because at least you never aired your soul/nethers/dirty laundry in public big_smile

And no. I don't watch them wink

A lot of people should let the producers and the networks and especially the sponsers of the show that we don't watch them. It comes down to money from the commercials. Tell the patrons of the shows.

It does come down to money. And the truth is that reality shows are much much cheaper to produce than regular tv shows.

Hate 'em.  Avoid them like the plague.  'Bout as entertaining as watching paint dry.  Nothing "real" about a bunch of people squelching the gag reflex to eat live worms, and why would *anybody* care what happens in Big Brother house? Too many shows like that were around before BB - they're called soap operas. Yuck!

I like a channel called "TruTV." I also like stuff like Ghosthunters, COPS, Street Patrol, and many others.

I'm not into a lot of them, however. The Zetas got over reality holovision eons ago.

I've never seen much reality in them.  It's clear that there is a director tell people to hype their reaction to things.  There is always way more drama than there should be.

  18. Pete Maida profile image59
    Pete Maidaposted 14 years ago

They are not worth that much emotion.  I have not and never will watch a reality show.  Game shows are going the same way.  Directors tell people to act like they are struggling for an answer even when the know it immediately.
