Which side of bed do you sleep?

   Which side of bed(double-bed) do you sleep or do you prefer to sleep?Assume the direction left or right, Facing towards the pillow of the bed.

      This matter actually caused some distress for me at one point in my life. My interest in which side of the bed I chose was always, which side is closest to the bedroom door in case of an intruder . . . I wasn't walking around trembling all the time imagining bad guys were anxious to do us harm, I merely always and in many ways stepped toward the 'front-line' so-to-speak. I'm 6'2' and broad shouldered and was raised by my mother to always be willing to be first to come to another's aid . . . I instinctively walk on the side of the traffic, step into a dark room first, etc. So, for years, I always slept on the side of the bed that allowed me to be the first to react to an intruder.
      
      And, that worked well for the first several places we lived - I was always on the same side of the bed, with my wife to my right (as I lie on my back). However, a couple of decades into our marriage we moved to a place where, if I slept nearest the door, I would be on the opposite side of the bed I was used to - and i quickly learned i was really, really used to my wife being on my right. The whole time we lived there I never slept well - fortunately, it's only been that one place, it was a long time ago, and everything's back to normal now . . . my wife's on my right and I sleep ready to defend her against intruders.

   I have a queen size bed and sleep right in the center. I've nothing worry about anyone sleeping in my bed.

   I always sleep on the side nearest the door. As my bedroom is arranged now that is the right side of the bed.

   For years now, I fall asleep on the sofa, and then wake up and continue my sleep in bed.  I find the sofa much more comfortable than my bed.

   I sleep nearest the door as I get up & make a cup of tea for us in the morning, When I am on my own I stretch right out across the bed !

   I spent 25 years sleeping an the right, but now that I'm divorced I get the whole kingsize bed to myself, so move around at will. Must admit I'm loving it and don't plan on sharing my bed ever again lol.

    I gravitate toward the middle of the bed. As long as I am surrounded by plenty of nice fluffy pillows, I'm quite happy anywhere!

    Well, it depends if you are on the bed or looking at the bed. If you're looking at the bed then I sleep on the right side of it, but if I'm lying on the bed then my husband is to my right and I'm on the left.
    
    Why in the world would anyone ask this question?! Who cares?! And what's worse... Why am I answering this?!
