In the simplest language I know, HubPages is changing how Amazon is going to work here and while you don't have to change before the holidays if you don't want to, you will by the end of the year if you wish to keep using the program.

When the change is due details will be posted on the forum.  To change you just complete a very simple form under the 'earnings' tab in my account - very similar to Ebay.  There is an FAQ posted already with all the details.  Look under 'Help'.

Right now you earn directly through Amazon.

As of Jan '12, you will earn from Amazon directly through Hubpages.

Hubpages claims this will increase profits/commission for most users since you'll get a higher percentage rate from sales.

So are you saying it is best to change now?

You can't change now - it's not 'open' yet!!!

I saw that some people are quitting hubpages?? I read that if we don't  sign up, hubpages will give us time for 1 week to remove our hubs and after that if you don't remove your hubs, all your hubs will be the copywrite of hubpages and not any more for you. Is it true??

            No.

Where on earth did you get that nonsense from?

In another forum discussion. Wait let me find that.

Couldn't find it but as far as I remember I saw such wordings in that forum post. That's why I'm asking because I didn't saw any such thing in FAQs but in that forum thread.

                  OK.

                  It's utter and complete nonsense.

Your content is yours and it remains yours unless and until you willingly give or sell it it to someone else.  Period.  If you read otherwise in a forum, the person who said it was wrong.  Period again.

Why cant you use Amazon with hubpages in North Carolina?

    1. QuestionMaster profile image79

Because Amazon refuses to allow associate accounts in states with the affiliate tax laws. Basically - it costs them too much time and money.

But this may get straightened out.  Amazon's complaint (and it is legitimate, I think) is that they shouldn't have to deal with 50 different sets of laws: this is taxable here, but  isn't there, there's an extra half percent on those things in that State, this one requires form 456R in triplicate monthly, that one says you can file electronically every quarter and so on.

If the States can agree on one set of rules, Amazon says they are fine with that.
