Be careful typing in your Hub's title

   I discovered after deciding to edit an unpublished recent  Hub with a totally different focus, that despite changing the originally selected title, the original title appeared in the URL when I hit "Publish"!  Team told me that I shuld wait 2 weeks to change the misleading URL because a "new" article (even though it was mine and unchanged except for a corrected URL) would look as if I had copied someone's (my own) work!
   Suggestion:  If that circumstance is staring you in the face, before publishing, start a new Hub with the correct/final title and cut and paste the finished article into the text of the new Hub, while eliminating the your original draft.

      I am with Dee on that one.  Thanks for the information. I know I have changed titles yet the old title is part of the url.
      
      Again, HP really needs to check and revamp information for Hubbers. This is an important issue which they seem to ignore.

      I reread this.  Problem is that you speak of draft, which is not a publish hub. 
      
      So, do we do the same thing with those that are already published?

      Another tip is to keep the URL (i.e. initial title) relatively general (no specific numbers, no specific date references, and so on. You can always change the actual numbers later in the title, as the URL's fixed.
      
      I committed this mistake. I write mass review hubs where I devote one capsule per product, and obviously I have to add new ones all the time. In one of them I made to mistake of actually putting the number in the initial title, then when the review expanded to far beyond that number, that number's stuck in the URL.

   Your suggestion is good.  This means that if I want to change the title AND the URL I should save my material then delete the original hub.  Then I should wait 2 weeks and publish what is essentially a brand new hub. 
   
   Would I then need to change referral links, any backlinks, RSS feeds etc.???

      Yes of course because everything then is pointed to the old url and if you have changed it, the old url doesn't exist anymore.
      
      This is nothing new, it has always been the case that spelling errors in urls can't be changed from the minute you hit the continue button when you start a new hub.
      
      If you have completed the hub and published it, the only way to correct the error is to unpublish, copy it over to a new hub, wait, then republish.
      
      Unless it is a glaring error, I wouldn't bother.
      
      Your title is far more important for getting traffic.
      
      If your hub is still unpublished, honestly it is a 5 minute job to start a new hub and copy/paste your already written content over, complete with photo or Amazon capsules, though you have to do them individually.

   As far as I am aware, once the hub is saved (published or not) the URL cannot be changed. This is quite annoying because even if you make a spelling error it remains as is on the URL, no matter how many times you change the tittle....

      To reemphasize:  I experimented on an as yet unpublished Hub by changing the title and it still published with the original title as part of the link..  If yuu enter a title in the system as part of starting a new Hub, that title appears in the link when you publish the final Hub.  Choose your title carefully as soon as you are ready to start that new Hub. It sticks.
