Apart from Hub Pages, on which other platforms do you write?

Before I came here.. I was a prolific Shock Tagger.

That is where you intentionally Shock People with Written or Artistic Scenes that they aren't used to, so that you can gauge their real reactions!  big_smile

I have 'written' everywhere - but Never in Toilets or Over Vehicles. roll

With subway platforms - I Only used Chalk to make 3D images.. Just scenes like a half zombie crawling onto the platform after being cut in two by a train!

I haven't used chalk here!  smile

Hubpages is my first big plunge into the area of article writing. I'd love to know where others write too and their experience of which sites are worth the time to contribute to.

    Triond and Squidoo.

I like Triond and they have nice bonus monthly specials.
Payments are monthly and regular. (Adsense is separate)

Squidoo - can't get the hang of it. I hardly earn there but, I'm hanging on. smile

Squidoo is a toughy and time consuming to figure out.

I have things on Triond. but really don't earn there.  Need to go back and look at it again.

Factoidz is another platform..  No adsense earnings. No self promotion except in profile. Other than your own articles, you can do various articles for them and pick up bonus pays, and there is no minimum pay balance. Get paid every month into pay pal.

I write for yahoocontributornetwork.com formerly Associated Content.  Rewriting for Hubpages because the revenue was better.  Triond does not generate income and I use it mostly to write articles that would not be of interest on other writing websites.

I have a couple of blogs and niche websites that I develop in addition to writing here on hubpages.  I have tried a few other writing sites, but just was not impressed.  The main reason I enjoy Hubpages is being able to interact with other writers - most of whom have been very nice and supportive.  I'm definitely not hubbing for the money put it that way wink.

I started out with my own blogs and niche sites, heard about Squidoo and joined them to find that it was too time consuming to figure out.

I joined Helium and noticed that I wanted to make an edit to an article I'd written. Upon editing, I saw that other users essentially vote whether your edit should go through or that your article should stay as is. I'm not quick to anger, but this P*SSED me off. Not to mention, once you put articles up over there, they essentially because theirs to own. I hope the owner wakes up in the morning and gets out of bed and steps on a bunch of thumb tacks or broken glass.

I stuck with my own niche blogs for a while and tried a variety of different ad networks and had a LOT of fun with that. I learned about SEO and to make things easier, I learned to program in order to make scripts that would help me out in SEO.

I wrote for a number of sites in my career:
    squidoo.com
helium.com (quit years ago, still want owner to step on tacks)
chacha.com (I was a guide when they first started)
    ezinearticles.com
    Guest poster at ghacks.net

Then a number of my own blogs/sites and a TON of work as a freelance writer. I have no idea where all my stuff ended up... travel blogs, etc.

Interestingly enough, one of my buyers refused to pay for one of my articles for a really stupid reason... he changed his mind on the keyword or something and my article didn't fit his new keyword. So, I posted the article here on HubPages and it became one of my highest earning hubs. tongue

For now it's mostly HubPages and my niche sites.
