I don't think you should judge anything by these replies. Most of these people have 10 hubs or less. You need more than that and then link the ones that are on the same subject together to make any cash. It also takes some time.

I think that is fairly self-evident.

Depends on which hub account. One makes about 45 cents a day off HPAds. Another makes about 8 cents a day off HPAds, but gets way, way more amazon sales so it really makes up for it. The last one makes about 25 cents a day off HPAds. Each account has different marketing styles.

I've made a whopping 56 cents so far this month. I only have 10 hubs so far, so I guess I can't complain. Caught myself getting excited when my money jumped 11 cents in one day. Pitiful, but true.

On my first month here on Hubpages, I earned zero, and I had 30 hubs then.  But on my second month, I earned more than $3 and I got my very first Amazon sale.  We didn't have HP Ads Program when I joined Hubpages in November 2010, so it was only Adsense and Amazon earnings for me at the time.  My advice is to keep on writing.  Those few cents will keep on coming as your hubs get more traffic.

Welcome to Hubpages and Happy Hubbing! smile

I registered 3 years ago, but started my first Hub last weekend. I made a whopping 10 cents and I am pretty happy with it smile

I mean, I made 10 cents doing no promotion at all (yet), so I guess it's cool.

I had a dream that I checked my total earnings and it said $681.43. I woke up laughing. In reality I have made about 60 cents in two weeks while generating 7 hubs with little promotion and no adsense, amazon or ebay. My goal for now is to get up to a dollar a day. Doing the math, I am beginning to realize the amount of work this will entail. After I get to that milestone I'll set another realistic goal.

But that isn't what you asked was it? On a daily basis I have earned between 0 cents and 14 cents.

I have checked your hubs and have noticed the large amount of links that you put in there to other people's hubs in your text as keywords.
I don't know if you're just being nice or you think that you are somehow helping to promote your own hubs, but that isn't how backlinking works. You need the links to lead to your site from someone else's site/page, not the other way round. I'm sure everyone you have linked to will appreciate it, but it won't help you a jot, if that was your intention.

I'm getting a refresher course in "passive income."

Active on Hubpages = 20 cents a day.
Not active on Hubpages = 5 cents a day.

Of course, it depends entirely on the type of content. I haven't been giving HP a fair shake, because I'm taking advantage of the fact it pays for impressions (unlike other sites) to post articles that are thoughtful/informative but attract more readers than clicks.

Topics that get conversions (Ad clicks or sales) will always earn more dough.

Also; thoughtful writing never gets much traffic; people aren't searching the web for it. So it only gets social (word-of-mouth) traffic, which does indeed require a constantly-refreshing stream of interesting content to establish readership.

You really have to examine each site to determine:
-- What form of "conversions" does this website pay us for?  (E.g. Ad clicks, sales, impressions)
-- What kind of articles tend to drive that specific type of conversions?
-- How can I attract people to that particular kind of article?
