One of the only continents that is still relatively untouched by mass tourism and i hope it stays that way for a long time!

I've been once, to Kenya.  My brother was living there at the time.  The safaris were amazing.  The people were very kind and generous despite their poverty.  It will always be one of my most memorable experiences.

It's an outstanding country as you have experienced and the people there are just fantastic, so hospitable and welcoming!

Been there it is a beautiful place and the people are super duper friendly. It would be nice if the kindness could be bottled and brought back to the United States. We could learn a thing or two about hospitality and mankind.

My family and I spent 8 years in East Africa.  We found that people were very relationship oriented. It was unusual to enter a home without being asked to sit down and have some tea and spend time talking about family, crops and animals. The safari experience is amazing, like sleeping in a luxury tent and listening to the hippos grunting in a pool outside your bedroom, or watching a lion eating a zebra kill. One of my favorite experiences was attending the Masai wedding of one of our students. We slept in a Manyatta in a hut with animal skins to lie on. Underneath, baby goats bleated and bumped up against the place we slept. Our son was able to stir the goat stew and search for Ostrich eggs. Our children's school vacations consisted of climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, white water rafting on the Nile, or visiting the Spice Island of Zanzibar. More intense times were spent careing for students with malaria or typhoid. Yet,it is an experience I wouldn't trade for the world. Lenzy

I worked in Kenya in the Summer of 2007 and loved my experience.  It was nafula (rainy season) when I first got there and it was wonderful to be immersed in such a vibrant culture.  The best part of my time there was working and speaking with the locals--the kindest people I've ever met.  I dream about going back everyday.

Wow, nice to hear that. The continent is all yours, just make the move to get closer to nature once again.

The only country in Africa I have visited so far is Egypt, which I have visited four times and love, because Egyptology is a major interest of mine.

I've more or less stopped travelling just for the sake of tourism; that no longer interests me any more.

I would like to visit other countries in Africa in a way that would enable me to communicate with the people who live there and also to learn more about the music. I would love to attend classes in drumming and singing and have an opportunity to have a go on a kora.

I hereby invite you to pay a visit to my beloved country Nigeria, the giant of Africa. If you have been to Africa without coming to
Nigeria, then you are definitely missing so much about what Africa really stand for, forget about the negative publicity out there in the western press,
Nigeria is  the place to come to when Africa is in view.

There are many Nigerians where I live. Most are drug dealers and smugglers. It is a facr.
I find them rude and arrogant.
That is my experiance with Nigerians.
Most people I have met from Ghana, Uganda and Rowanda are very respectful and decent people.

So in your own eye all Nigerians are drug dealers and smugglers because you are unfortunate enough to live among some right?

Are you telling the whole world in all honesty that no Canadian is involve in drug and smuggling chain?

This respond is not in support of any illicit trade, ranging from drug to child trafficking.

All i am saying is your comment is narrow minded and an attack on a nation directly. You cleverly omitted Ghanians, and others, wow.....your are a smart guy.

I am ashamed of those Nigerian though, but...brother don;t judge me with them because i am Felix a Nigerian:not a drug dealer nor a smuggler.

I am very nervous about traveling to Nigeria at the moment due to Boko Haram Terrorism. Hopefully, when things calm down, I will visit for a week or so.
