I ask a Jehovah woman that came to my door

Will only 144,000 men make it to heaven , She said yes.

There will be no heaven for me or for women or paradise on earth, can that be true?

If you believe in the Holy Bible as the truth and the true word of God and Jesus, then the Jehovah Witness is totally WRONG!

The Bible teaches that all who believe in Jesus and accept Him as their redeemer will be saved and go to heaven. See John 14;6 and John 3:14-18 in the Holy Bible.

Sorry Dave, but just because someone believes in a particular set of scriptures does not make their scriptures right and other scriptures wrong. The Bible could be just as right or wrong as any other scriptures and no one will ever really know which one is right until we all see which God actually exists.

If we go toward him, like children. we will get the right answers.

The bible is 66 small books, and has a theme running from Genesis to Revelation.  It takes a long time to study and understand the seeming contradictions.   Hope that does not sound condescending, of course that is my feeling on the  subject.

There are groups who consider themselves superior to others. I think anyone can be to some degree guilty of being condescending or Bias.

The extreme difference between JW blind faith and an  Intellectuals Atheist would be a high degree of Condescending action happening there. You would find my degree, some what in the middle of all that, thinking everyone is God. Either way I live in a world of a marketplace of ideas where everybody is busted on their BS from time to time ...

If a person thinks about God and realizes that john 3:16 says For God so loved the (people) in the (whole) world that he gave his Son that Whosoever should believe should be saved.

Does this speak of only men and not women?

Jesus said: there is no marriage in heaven for all are as the angels.

So no women, no men. Just spiritual bodies on the astral plane forever and ever.

So sorry troubled your limited understanding has once again allowed the mud to be over your head. We do not even need the bible to ferret  the correctness of this doctrine. God is by relationship experience, Love.

well even though they may not be men and women in body when they go to heaven, i think he means whether they were men or women when they were on earth.  I dont particularly want to go to heaven do you?  If i could choose between staying on earth with paradise conditions, or going to heaven, i think i would stay here,

lol So, you inject magical thinking (spiritual bodies - astral plane) in order to provide an explanation and then tell me I have "limited understanding". Hilarious.

To actually have an "understanding" you would need to provide evidence for spiritual bodies and astral planes, not just make some unfounded, faith based declaration.

What scripture says IS that 144,000  "PERFECT"  people are chosen.  They have never, never even kissed a girl, or told a lie, or anything anybody would consider to be a BAD thing.

These are going to have a special favor in his heart. They get to go first.
And then some time later the rest of us that want to, can go (if we want to ?)

That is the basic story! :   and everyone can add their own words to it and have their own interpretation ..     IF we want to?

Jehovah's Witnesses believe that it will be 'just men' that are a part of the 144,000. They are a 'male dominated society, however having said that, there is a role of teaching their version of the bible that is assigned to women too.

Paradise for the remainder of humans that are alive will be on Earth.

The date for this has been changed several times, because as they say "new light has been revealed, but they kept changing the date because the date would come and nothing would happen, so they had to keep moving the date forward, now there is NO date, just a set of circumstances, because they were losing a lot of witnesses, because of all the wrongly predicted dates.

Jesus is supposed to come along with the 144,000 to slay the devil for ever. He will then ressurect the 'believers' that were dead, and paradise will be on Earth forever.

So if you don't believe and become a baptized JW, then your 'goose' is cooked. Sounds remarkably like christianity and like the muslims and like the jewish religions to me.

I wrote a hub about the Jehovas Witnesses - well how to get rid of them from knocking on your day. But I also wrote another one about the hell they endured through the nazis too because of their beliefs.

I say each to their own, Joy can you help me I hope this is not wrong but - I think that ,maybe people are getting the text wrong like the other christians do - as what I think is in the eyes of Jehovah you are all an army so that will be men and women so in that approach most armies refer to soldiers as men so in that reference women will also be known as men when referring to the army. So maybe women will be welcomed just the same as men. smile

well i think because the people that take the lead in the congregation are men, and i am so happy about that, as they work very hard, and long, i would hate to have to do it.....  they presume, that in Jehovah's Witness religion, women are classed as second class, but they are not.

We believe 144,000 go to heaven, but not all j.w's people from right back in the days of Jesus, both and women.

Somewhere it says women are a large army preaching the good news, but i think that is another issue, i will go to read your hub.   They were indeed treated very badly at the hands of the Nazi's.

They wore a purple triangle, and although not many know about it, they were treated like the jews many put to death.

    Perhaps it should be looked at rather differently;
Revelation Ch 7 V.4 “I heard the number of them which were sealed. An hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.”
The number 12 gets a mystical symbolism among the Hebrews because there are 12 months in the year and so 12 signs of the Zodiac. The number referred to completeness. So 12 tribes is the complete children of Israel. 12 times 12 means absolutely complete. A thousand was the highest number that had a name in Roman times and so 144,000 means. A lot of them. It does not have to be taken literally.

She said No, we women await for the second coming of a Christ, we lay    dead on earth until God come to get us. In which  for all the women who believe in him with good deed will entre Heaven.

If I added up all the deaths, that have been on earth. It come out to 100 billion people going to hell, that is a hell of a lot of torture for eternity for all our love ones,  all because God love you and I

I am constantly amazed how many Christians do not read their bible; OR do not understand what they have read. They depent on the preacher or neighbor to tell them what is written in scripture and what to think about that which is written.

The 144,000 mentioned in Revelation are the same people as the "Children of Daniels People" talked about in Daniel 12:1.

This is very explicit as to who they are and how many there will be.
Rev 14:4 They are virgins and in their mouths was found No guile.
They are the first fruits. found to be worthy to go to heaven even without Christ's sacrifice.

Back in the Old Days  Before their crops are harvested the farmer would pick some of whatever their crop was as a sample for their buyer to see. This would be the best that could be found in their fields.
And then after a price was established, the fields were harvested and taken to market.
And then there would be a last and final harvest.
This is part of the reason the Rapture and Rescurrections are described this way.

    "Rapture"  =  Only perfect examples
First resurrection =  first harvest = 80% of the harvest.
Second resurrection = gleaning of the fields =  picking that which was passed over the first time for one reason or another.

The scriptures describe these as being three entirely different events at three different times.

Well,  scripture, how it has been translated does indicate that it will be Men that are Raptured; even though Jesus did say that two women will be in the fields, one will be taken and the other left behind.

Rev. chapter 20 ...  The saints (Those who have been killed) are seen "IN HEAVEN" where they will reign with Christ for 1000 years, and when the 1000 years are finished, Satan will be released from the pit. Then the sixth bowl will be poured out and the Dragon, the beast and False prophet go out to gather the kings of the earth for that Last great battle.
It is after this (second resurrection) that Paradise will be here on earth.

IF we look closely ...  the 1000 years that Satan is bound in the pit is contained within the 42 months that the beast is given to blaspheme.
This is all found in chapter 20 if we look closely.
At the beginning of the 1000 years those that didn't take the mark of the Beast reign with Christ.
At the end of the 1000 years the beast, false prophet and Satan gather the kings of the earth together.
So,  the 42 months in prophesy is a longer period of time that 42 nonths on earth.

Sorry to repeat myself, but Jehovah's Witnesses do not believe that only men will go to heaven.  Neither are they male dominated.   The men and women share in the house to house work, as the first post shows.  Unfortunately the information he was given was wrong, it absolutely does not teach within that religion that only men go to heaven..... I can quote from there books, but people generally dont like that, so i will avoid it... Honestly i should know....

    1. profile image0
ecoethicalveganposted 12 years agoin reply to this

Yes, you're right that they share in the house to house witnessing work, the women also contribute to acting on 'stage platforms' at Kingdom Halls, and District Conventions, to help with encouraging other 'witnesses and non witnesses,' they also take active roles in 'Bible studies' (The NEW World Translation), to be exact, which is a bible version translated and the only approved version for them to teach from)

However when there is a JW male present, it is only they the males that lead in prayer, or give public talks at their 'Watchtower' meetings, and also it is only 'males' that become 'Elders' or 'Ministerial' Servants.

In addition, it is only males that preside over and lead in the Kingdom Hall construction fields, and only 'males' that are 'Presiding Overseers' or 'District Overseers'

As for going to 'heaven,' JWs are going to have their 'paradise' here on Earth, not in heaven with the 144,000, also when the 144,000 go to heaven, they will be 'genderless.

I only asked a few Jehovah witness members and a  few of them, told me that Women are not going to heaven. I don't care to have angry discussion about the 144,000 written in the Bible and to sort out all it's myths from facts from within all the disagreeable Christian denomination. That would be like a never ending suffering  bag of Christian luggage to drag around throughout a whole lifetime without solutions for me. It only amazing how such blind faith works and how it continues to exist with lack of or absence of reasoning behind it.

If only 144,000 men are going to heaven, what would be the point for a woman to be a Jehovah's Witness?  Not to be cynical, but from what I've observed the payoff or reward for followers of any religion is their place in the afterlife. If there is no reward, why follow the religion?

It is written that  The 144,000 are the first to go to heaven.

First buss so-to-speak.  It is kinda like the 12 disciples are the supreme Court judges, and the 144,000 are the members of the senate.
And the rest of us are citizens.

I think you missed the point I was making.

I think!  that the 144,000 ;  since they knew how to do everything right, and fairly, justly, they will be the teachers or examples.

Just as it should be here on earth (should be) that all the judges who preside over the courts NOT be guilty of having committed any felonies past or present.

According to scripture, each and everyone will be rewarded according to their good deeds.  Do we consider it to be our punishment when we do not receive      as many rewards as someone else?  Do we call that preferential treatment?

I would think that those who receive the fewest rewards for they did the fewest good deeds would answer both questions as YES.

JW believe Christ will reign over a paradise earth. Only 144,000 throughout history will rein in heaven with God.  They assume the last of the 144,000 are in their ranks.

When they observe the passover they don't eat or drink. They consider themselves unworthy. If someone does, the info is sent straight to headquarters. They'll determine if the one who did is one of the last of the chosen. I don't know what happens if it is determined they aren't. I guess they have to spit it out.

Hey I'm with Disturbia on this one  .. well put !!!!

And to add to the many truths that Jerami wrote remember that this "Heaven" is to be here on earth.. The Kingdom of God is right here on this earth.. This is the time that the Prophets spoke of..  The time when the ruling Lion (our Jesus) would lay down with the lambs not eat them up like the present Lion is doing..That time when the  Great One will with his chosen one's rule the earth and lead the nations to life.. These are the days spoken of by Issiah when men would learn the right way and walk in it.. A time of probation for all those left alive at the coming of the Lord.. A time of ruling with  all authority.. Bad lion out.. Good Lion In .. :0)..

Now we also know  that those left alive to inhabit this kingdom of God here on earth  will be made up of mostly the poor, the afflicted, the scum of the earth.Remember our Jesus himself  said that the worst of sinners would enter the kingdom before the self - righteous religious entered the Kingdom.

Now the False Prophet and the Beast, the Church and the State,  at the coming of the Lord they shall die by what they lived by.. As to the State, the powers that be, that they lived by the sword,  they are gathered to that valley where after being given those swords they slay one another till that river of blood written about be fulfiled. The Great Wine Press of the Wrath of God has been trodden till it runnet over, yet still more remain..

Now the False Prophet , those whose taught and proudly held to  the doctrine of devils and demons. They, being so hellbent on hell, shall be cast into the lake of fire.. that fire orginally meant for and made for the sinning angels. Jesus said what manner of judgement you used would be used against you.

Thererfore a taste of their own medicine will most certainly cure them of this wicked spirt of endless venengance.  Matter of fact I imagine only a few seconds of what they felt to be ok, for time without end,  for others will bring about a change of their spirit.. I assure you by the spirit of the Lord that those who would judge endless torture to be a righteous judgement will be disqualified from Jury Duty !!!  Oh my the wages of sin is death and only death.. the very fact that all men are to be ressurected is the good news of the gospel !!!  Better a live man above ground with a second chance than to forever sleep ... this is what our Savior did purchase for all men..  behold the Lamb of God who has taken away the sins of the world.

The demise of  False Prophet then fulfiles  where it is written that the righteous will trod upon the ashes of the wicked..

even so come Lord Jesus, come lead us to life !!!!

You were correct. We would all be prone to imagine an afterlife we were comfortable with. I'll be honest, I don't have a great deal of respect for JW beliefs. Russell and Rutherford conducted themselves in such a manner that it would be difficult to label them spiritual men.  I've noticed the religion pointedly ignores the actions of their founders. Top that with the translation of the Bible that conveniently supports their agenda, without being able to show scholarly work in the translation and it leaves one to shake one's head.  They are good people (the ones I know) but that doesn't equate to truth on a spiritual level.

I feel I am intruding here.  I am researching and studying about JW religion.  I am trying to imagine all these bodies being resurrected, some old, some young, they are dirty and their bodies putrified.  If a person who is 90 years old, who has been in peace being dead, is resurrected, does that mean he will keep being that old man?  I mean, I would not like to be resurrected at 70 years old and continue in life FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE IN PARADISE.  How does that work?  Why do I want to retain a body that is so limited.  I would like to be energy or a spirit, but not to feel.  There is a part of the book I am reading that points out how the group of the first resurrected will go to heaven to be part of a "marvelous Kingdom government" .  With all respect, allow me to say that This JW's idea brings me a vision of dictatorship.  My GOd is not a dictator.  It makes me uneasy and sad to imagine that I would be resurrected.  A body need to rest. just an opinion.

Everyone dies, but not everyone lives. Most people worry too much about death, to the point, they forget how to live, even with clean hands. I sense my spirit or energy transforms into something and my best guess is I will know when I get there, and  nothing will prevent me for living for today

Even better, why not learn more from pictures rather than from the ancient words.  All people see pictures first in their minds before words appear in their mind.

Why not go back to the dawn of civilization  of arts and cultures 35.000 BC about 29,000 years before Adam and Eve?. Image if we worship the smartest man in the cave back then, how much smarter than we would be today.

    - - = = - =

       Me
I think that this secret is hidden  in the first chapter v 26 ...
"Let US make man in our image".
Who was he talking to?   US!

It is also written that our names were written in the book of Life before the foundations of the earth were laid.  ....  cause we were there.

And in the book of Revelation it is written that the earth and everything was created for pleasure.

When this physical body dies we go back to where we were before; doing something similar to what we were doing before.

If we are going to live forever AND forever in heaven, we are going to need a break once in a while.  So we break away and come down here for a while.

Some might say we Fall down here.
But we are not suposed to know all of that while we are here.
If we knew this is the way it is, ...

       All hell would break loose.

I'm not swearing to this,  though I am leaning in this direction.

      Rev 5:  11And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;
    That is 100,000,000 people.

       =====================

ME ,,  One thing that I notice is that this is saying there are that many around the throne and Yet ... and the Lamb hasn't even taken the book of Life.
Had not even opened a single seal.

Some time passes before the sixth seal is opened and then ... there is a great number that no man can count.
This is a different group of beings than the one previously mentioned.
The seventh seal is opened and nothing happens  EXCEPT that a period of time is described as passing "AND THEN"  The seven trumpets are handed out.

In my opinion these seal judgments were inflicted upon the Hebrew peoples.
Has any one ever wondered what all of those "AND THENs" are refering to.

A chronoligical order is being referenced!

It is some time after this that the beast rising up out of the sea is seen rising up to power.
It is given 42 (prophetic) months in which it will blaspheme and fool many to worship it.  Then Satan gives it his power and seat. then Satan is bound for 1000 years and when He is released;  He, the Beast and False Prophet are seen going out to gather together the kings of the earth for that last great battle.

According to scripture the 1000 years are contained within the 42 months that the beast is given.

It is during the 42 months of the beast that those described in C. 20 are seen in heaven.
This is a third different time that a number of people are described as being seen in heaven yet this one time is said to be The first rescurrection.

Three different groups of people described at three different times.

This is hard to explain  SSOooooo   everybody just pretend it isn't so and group everything together in a nice little pile and say these are All going to happen within a 3 1/2 year (our time) time frame   At some time in the future.
