Its indeed a very irritating, and painful condition of the hands or Feet ...
Out in these parts ... 20 or 30 Onion Seeds, called "Kalonji" are taken thrice a day, for a month, these do help. But the best is to consult a qualified physician.

Stop eating meat - go cold turkey (no pun intended)! Just grains and vegetables.

consult a REAL doctor - i've had gout for more than 15 yrs and it is possible to control and prevent it with real medicines like colchcine and allopurinol.

SOME forms of gout are related to diet, but others are not - only a uric acid test can help your doctor decide which form of gout you have.   the vegetarian diet is something you may decide to follow for other reasons, but it won't necessarily do ANYTHING for your gout

Blood cannot circulate properly in your joints so you have to bring blood to relieve your gout. You need hot and cold application. You need to live a natural health life. No meats, fresh air, exercise, and fruits and vegetables tp your daily life.

As a medical herbalist, I use herbs for healing almost everything that comes along. I lowered my cholesterol with just herbal teas! I wrote a hub on that.
Herbs are an amazing gift from the Earth, and can be used to treat everything from Abscesses to warts, and everything in between.
They can detox your body, heal your body, and with aromatherapy can lift the spirit and ease the mind.

'Vinca Rosea' which in Cuba and Florida is called Vicaria and it's just a wild species of the Vinca flower and is completely white - it's great for the pink eye and all sorts of eye infections and pains. I grow it in my backyard and it's very refreshing on the eyes. Wonderful to have around!

Gotu kola has a reputation for alleviating fatigue, nervous disorders, epilepsy and depression, treating memory loss and even prolonging life!

In clinical studies Gotu Kola was shown to increase the powers of concentration in mentally retarded children, increasing IQ, general ability, with improved behavioral patterns and expression, communication and co-operation.

cascolyposted 13 years agoin reply to this

sources please - were these peer reviewed studies published in a scientific journal?  how were iQs determined?  were the tests double blind?  without knowing those answerrs, the results are no more effective than facilitated communication was for autism

New Way Herbsposted 13 years agoin reply to this

Numerous research projects explored the properties of gotu kola and undertook various trials, with wound healing, duodenal ulcers, to enhance memory skills, tumours, etc. In India, scientific documentation of clinical tests, by Dr.M.V.R. Appa Ras and his associates, showed increased mental activity of children in the trials. Fifteen, mentally retarded children were given a 500mg tablet of powdered gotu kola daily. After trials of three months, the children showed increased powers of attention and concentration, considerably above that of the fifteen children in the placebo group. Results also showed significant increase in IQ (4.6%), general ability, with improved behavioural patterns and expression, communication and co-operation. Biochemical studies revealed, gotu kola benefited the replacement rate of biogenic amines: the chemicals in our brains which act as neuro-transmitters, involved in learning and memory process.

thanks - i've checked out the sites you mentioned - intersting that nothing seems to have been published since 1989 - none of the other google searches turned up anything citing any later paper.  and while several articles quote the mayo clinic

http://www.mayoclinic.com itself has no results when searching for gotu kola, while they do have a number of articles on alternative medicine

Vinegar for acne, applied topically to blemishes and ingested in small amounts with plenty of cold water.  It also aids weight loss by curbing your appetite and jump starting your metabolism.  It should be taken daily. Just a tablespoon in as much water as you need to make it palatable. A tablespoon in an 8 oz cup of water will suffice as a skin toner. Just apply with a clean cotton ball, allow to air dry, then rinse. Otherwise you'll smell like vinegar!

Apple cider vinegar works best, the kind that is not distilled, available at health food stores. You know it's natural because it contains 'mother' which is basically all the little bits & pieces of apple left in the vinegar after processing. This gives natural apple cider vinegar a cloudy appearance and sediment at the bottom of the container

The simplest and most beneficial remedy is to drink lots of water, most of us drink less than one quarter of the amount we should.  It is the best remedy for most headaches, general apathy and tiredness and helps recovery from most illnesses and also helps the body to more quickly expel the toxins that are modern medicine when they have done their primary job.

Gout is a form of arthritis and occurs most often in people who consume rich foods and alcohol. It is a formation of uric acid deposits in the joints. So, by reducing the consumption of offending food, and supplementing with correct vitamins, and supplements would bring relief. (not judging, I enjoy my chocolate cake) Inositol helps to lower uric acid levels, as does magnesium. Inositol 500mg to 4 grams daily in powder form. Magnesium 250-500mg daily. Above that, and you may experience loose stools. As magnesium is a natural laxative. I hope this helps. Let me know.
