I answered a forum question about earnings and now Google has shunned me. Don't give specifics - please - I don't want you to feel my pain but I my work has been banished from Google. No traffic - none.
I don't understand why honesty doesn't prevail. I didn't print out my earnings as I have seen others do - all I did was state where my current daily earnings where.
Earnings according to Google must remain private. I have learned the hard way and I am posting this to help you avoid my pain.
My traffic was down 80%, it is now down about 98%. So sad...
The sandpit - wonder how long I will have to pay for my ignorance. I thought I was helping by sharing. Oh, boy, was I ever wrong!
I hope it gets better for you honey and your time out is not too long. I am still trying hard to work out HOW TO GET BLOODY ADSENSE active. It keeps declining my application as it can't get access to my site. It is driving me nuts.
The two are certainly not connected.
There are certain specific details of your earnings - CTR for instance - which you must not disclose. If you break those rules, the punishment is the loss of your Adsense account - not the loss of your traffic. Even then - as Greekgeek says - Google doesn't have squadrons of people monitoring forums to spot people who break those rules. And if you kept your comments general, it's unlikely you've broken any rules.
Ouch. Goldie, getting sandboxed by Google's spiders is always miserable, and one flails looking for causes, answers, "Why me?"
But Google is not quite Big Brother enough to be reviewing all our posts on every bulletin board, blog, and webpage on the planet looking to see if we're posting our earnings. How could it? It would require millions of full-time paid employees closely monitoring the entire web. I don't think computer algorithms are smart enough to catch such posts. Even if they were, that would require a huge amount of computing power, money, servers, and engineers to create and monitor such "tattletale" algorithms.
For that reason, I fear you may be getting thwacked by something else, instead. If so, you aren't alone. Over and over, all around the web, I'm seeing people struggling to deal with suddenly dropping off the face of Google.
There have been so many causes of upheaval since the start of 2011: backlinks no longer count like they used to, Google Shopping and Knowledge Graph are now pushing a lot of former top-of-the-page search listings down so that most Google users don't see and click on links to our stuff, search engines are experimenting with ways to use social media signals to help rank pages, Panda is upranking or downranking entire domains based on their overall wuality or spam content, and Google is now trying to measure and reward user engagement and interaction more than before.
Any of those things could be giving you griref. It's so frustrating! I wish I knew what to suggest, but I confess that other than "Use keyword stats to see what your visitors tend to look for, and try to satisfy those queries as effectively as you can," I got nothin.
Ive been reading along and around heaps of sites including here of folks talking about traffic loss falling faster than a pair of panties on a wedding night...
One aspect Ive seen on my own accounts that seemed to have helped even when my own traffic crashed (30 views a days hurts) was incoming links from other articles I've published around the internet. Now that I have recently seen my traffic return, Ive seen these other sites pay off in terms of traffic investment.
The strategy is simple, write articles on other sites, how many doesn't matter so long as it is 3 articles or more and link them to a single hub. I use aspects of my hubs to write articles of similar niche, defined topic to my main hub. These other article/content sites may not necessarily be content payment sites, but content is required and so are links!!!

Since I migrated here from Squidoo two months ago, I've seen a steady stream of threads in this forum, complaining about lost page views. There are a lot of theories about why it's happening, and how much it's happening, and what can be done to get into Google's good graces.Google is not my #1...

Just curious, but does anyone have experience with this? How'd you do it? Did you tell Google the article moved somehow or do anything else fancy? Or did you just copy, paste, delete from HubPages, and wait for Google to catch up?Im guessing there might be some duplicate content penalties from...

1. Change ad placements so they don't interrupt the text. Place ads to one or either side of the text.2. Get rid of Recommended For You ads currently at the bottom of articles. They are undermining the whole site.3. Encourage more transparent dialogue between writers and the HP team. Exchange of...

In his hub 'What We Don't Know About Google Panda?', Paul Edmondson points out that Google seems to expect sites to leap high above any bar that might reasonably be set for quality purposes.Paul seems less than happy with Google's attitude. He seems to think that if a page can somehow limp over...
