After all the outcry over Biden being in Tampa and how it was terrible of the Democrats to do such a thing ... an appearance he cancelled. I read this:
"The Republican National Committee held the first of what spokespersons say will be daily press conferences and reactions in Charlotte, to counter messaging coming out of the Democratic National Convention.

Seems to me to be a good idea, counter more democrat lies in real time. Its about time the RNC grew a pair.
But when it was Biden going to be in Tampa doing the same it was seen as awful and underhanded and nasty...
I don't care. The RNC has made a good choice.
Of course, it's only good when they do it.
I don't,didn't and never would care if democrats went to Tampa last week. What the RNC does this week won't matter Obama is done in November because of his actions. Not the RNCs fault democrats fold to pressure.
We shall see in November. I fear for freedom in your country for women if Romney gets elected.
What do you think he will do to women, put them in chains?
He won't do anything because he won't be elected. Even if he were to be elected, he wouldn't do anything. He is just pandering to his nutcase base to get their votes.
He'll be elected. It will actually be ugly, 2010 revisited. You remember 2010? Sure you do.
What was ugly about 2010? People voted for who they wanted. Why do you consider that ugly?
You are not going to get anywhere, don't you know that?
Unlike you, if voters choose someone I don't like, I don't consider it "ugly." Interesting mindset you have.
I'm still waiting for an answer to that also...
In other words, the Republicans are worried, after all, their convention was a rip roaring success wasn't it?
Well that's really not a surprise. Wait and see how Charlotte's Republican residents vote in November and you will realize there were more Republicans in Charlotte than you thought there were!
Yes, those republicans have two sides to their mouths, like Romney and the Affordable Care Act or Ryan and abortion. They can take either side of an issue just to get a vote or more money.
UN,
Please, so Bidan cancelled being there on the ground. The real reason was the DNC was afraid he would go off with another of those great statements he is famous for. In its place the DNC had a rapid response team there and there id nothing wrong with that. In fact both sides have been doing so for ass long as I can remember. So you are upset the Republicans are doing the same thing the Dems did and what both sides have been doing. Sounds likes a desperate over reach to me.
No... I am pointing out the hypocrisy. I don't think there is particularly anything wrong with either side having people in their opposition's convention city.I am talking about the huge outcry there was over it...
You did a great service here. I am relieved to know that the forums are no longer dominated by pro Tea Party jargon and propaganda. The will to expose lies, hypocrisy and rotten behavior is a powerful weapon against the jingoism and dog whistle politics that has infuriated, fooled, and exhausted so many voters this year.
And to think, IW, the GOP were complaining about the possiblility of Biden going to Tampa during their convention. Which face do you want to select between the two faces?
I think it will be great fun. Look how well their own convention was managed; this should be even better
"It will be an effort full of gimmicks, including a Romney-Ryan NASCAR race car – number 12 for 2012, of course.
And while Democrats have happily made light of Mitt Romney’s “Etch A Sketch” foible, Republicans will bring their own toys, including “You Build It” Legos and “You Build It” Monopoly."
I have a feeling they will look silly and unprofessional to moderates and independents. Their right-wing base will eat it up, but they already have the base. This will, just like the Eastwood stunt and Lyin' Ryan, result in laughs and ridicule across the twitter sphere and internet.
Bring out the popcorn! lol
Obama doesn't have a prayer with independents, they hate him.
Says Repairguy47, spokesperson for independents. LOL
James Carville agrees, the only thing we have ever agreed on.
Swing vote? How about some votes from the 9.8% of North Carolinians who are currently unemployed? Perhaps President/Candidate Obama will speak to them about "four more years"?
Oh, are you expecting the government to help them? You must be a socialist.
If they're unemployed, it's because they are not willing to work hard and develop a business plan with good market research so they can open their own business. Just ask gmwilliams, Jaxson Raine, Will Starr, KK Trainor, and Repairguy47.
Heck, they can go from unemployed to wealthy with nothing but their own hard work! Stop expecting the government to help these lazy do-nothings.
Hard work, what a unique concept. But pretty panther forgets Obama said that if you are a success someone helped you along the way. So it makes perfect sense to look to government help...right?
I'm not a socialist, but I've heard rumors there are some notable figures in government who appear to be. You read me wrong. I suggested that, if Candidate Obama were to tell me, as a unemplyed Tar Heel that he wanted four more years to straighten out his "changes," I'd tell him he was whistling "Dixie" and sing him a verse from "So Long, It's Been Good (?) To Know Ya"!!
Have you written to your governor about your plight?
She seems very concerned with jobs and supporting Congress in focusing on the economy.
Too bad Congress decided to abandon "jobs" as a cause (not to mention a tactic to make Obama take the fall) and distract the public with a faux debt ceiling crisis.
Have you considered moving to the other Carolina? You might prefer the political climate there with Governor Haley. Just a thought. Oh, wait. Their unemployment rate is also 9.6.
Well, if it's truly a job you're wanting, consider moving to any number of states where the outlook is much, much brighter than where you are:
http://www.bls.gov/web/laus/laumstrk.htm
Sorry, I was on a sarcasm spree last night due to recurring but contradictory themes from certain people on the forums:
1) The unemployed are that way because they don't work hard enough.
2) It is wrong to expect government help; in fact, those who receive help from the government are lazy moochers.
3) Upward mobility is just as easy as it has ever been, all you have to do is work hard (or, as one person said, develop a good business plan based on sound market research).
4) Despite all of the above statements, the country will fall apart if Obama is re-elected. Obama should be doing more to create jobs and help people.
The dems ought to be happy that some GOPers are showing up. The media's been making a big deal over the dems busing in folks just to fill the seats.
We know Hillary won't show. Ouch.
If you're talking about Hillary, it's because she's not allowed to attend while acting Sec. of State.
The way the post was phrased made it sound like Hillary is boycotting the convention.
"We know Hillary won't show. Ouch."
If it's legislated that she not attend as SOS, then how or why is that an "ouch"?
Bill will be there, tho.
Sorry, if it sounded that way. I wasn't aware that there was a statute against the Sec of State attending. I figured it was her choice.
So - why isn't Al Gore going?
Al Gore isn't going because it turns out he didn't build the internet.
No, but he'll be watching it on the Internet
I wonder if he even follows politics anymore.
Not sure I would, in his shoes.
Regardless if they are democrat or republican are they a true man of God? What are their beliefs and do thier lives reflect them? Our country no our Nation needs to have the Lord brought back to make our country better. Without Him there is no getting better. Man Can Not Do What GOD can do. Prayers for all the parties that are going for presidency. May God have mercy on all of our souls.

A recently heard speculation has ex-Rep. Cheney running for president in 2024—as an Independent candidate. The idea is to split the vote as Perot did.One prompt for that thought was the huge war chest she has and how little she spent on her reelection campaign. The reasoning is that she would be a...
