I have this inborn passion for writing, from short stories, poetry to articles, and for some years now, I have explored this talent and passion. But unfortunately, I lost one of my best novel manuscript, something I wrote when I was just 12, and it keeps bordering me daily.
To fast forward the story, I came on hubpages, started churning out hubs from my personal experience and knowledge, and so be it, I made some fame and cash too, then I took up a day pay job early this year, guess what? I can now hardly compose a story, or a good article, its just as if someone have cast a spell on me or as if my brain has been completely wiped. I am losing my talent, my passion, my hobby- writing, and I am dying silently in pains, can someone please help me find my way back?
the first thing i would suggest is quit trying to write someting. take a break from anything that has to do with writing. get outside adn enjoy the day, spend time with loved ones, pets, friends, whatever makes you happiest and most content and relaxed. dont let yourself even think about writing. at first your thoughts concerning writing will be the need to get back and try to write. but the longer you keep yourself from doing that, and make yourself focus on all the wonderful things going on around you, pretty soon, the writer in you will begin to focus on things it wants to write. things that move you. and before you know it, you will get an overwhelming desire to write about something, and you will have no choice but to write it.
the next thing i would say is never try to force a story or article. if it doesnt flow out smoothly, if you cant write it with passion, then perhaps it is not worth writing. writing is an art, like painting or music...it is an creative art form. let the creative juices flow. creative juices flow out of our passions. let your passions flow free, do not restrict them, rejoice in them.
I would recommend focusing on your daily chores and duties, perhaps jotting down some "writing" ideas in a notebook from time to time. Then, when you get a few minutes free time, say a couple of times a week, review your thoughts and notes. If you do this a few times, I feel that an article may start forming in your mind, or more than one article. Good luck!
Thanks so much, I have picked something from your comment
It sounds like you're in a big ol' funk. Sorry for your troubles. I think we've all been there, but maybe not so severely.
Why not take a few days to think about your manuscript you lost, then start a project where you try to recreate it as best you can, but this time with many more years of experience and perspective? Think of it as a tribute to the original manuscript and the young writer you were when you created it. Don't worry about any writing except for this project, and when it's done see if your enthusiasm for writing at HubPages has changed.
Thank you...I think I need to start that story again, I really need to.
Hi Accofranco the grind of daily living does tend to be 'numbing'. I would suggest write down idea's and brainstorm a 'map' on them, whether daily or one hour each evening. As for your lost manuscript, I can only suggest looking at events at the time that compelled that 'inner little boy' to write and see if you can remember what you wrote. Notes are good and help for future reference for projects;)
Hey Dame, thanks so very much, its really disappointing, I am yet to recover from that loss. sighs
What everyone else said. Not only will your writing come back, but your subconscious will serve up the location of your manuscript when you least expect it.

It seems people have lost their passion for HubPages. Why lot of active members now remain so silent. Why so many hubbers migrated to other writing platforms. I am observing a total lull in the hubbing activities of many active writers here. For many, including me, the traffic and revenue are going...

I am frustrated. We now have to write bios that show our expertise at something. I am not an expert at something because I write about it. I am a journalist and writer that has learnt to research a topic thoroughly and reproduce the facts in a way that is succinct to the reader.I read the following...

More and more, forum users are telling people that they do not have the required skills to write on Hubpages.Others, seem to believe there is a duty to defend the website's borders against incursions from the foreign hordes. In this case, "foreign" seems to involve anyone or...

Recently, my articles have been rejected for moving to a niche site. The site I am submitting the articles to is ‘LevelSkip’. They always give the same generic response, saying that the issue is Experience Based Content. Experience Based Content is very problematic because it is unclear what it...
