How to Ditch "Related Hubs"?

   I am working on a hub that is not quite ready to be published. I noticed that in the right hand lower corner, Hubpages lists "Related Hubs". I find one of these to be offensive, and I don't want it apeparing on my hubpage when I publish. How can I remove the offending hub from the list of "Related Hubs"? Or is there a way to remove the "Related Hubs" box altogether?

         The lists change ,but perhaps you could consider rewording your title?

   I have found that careful key-wording has often put hubs that are truly related on my page... but they often don't show until after it is published.  The initial ones, shown in the preview, are based on the category, as far as I can tell.

         The related hubs currently shown in hubs are the 'best hubs' coming from the category page, previously they were picked from 'best hubs' of tag pages.

               Yes, that does seem to be it. The "hot" hub in the category is what it is. But shouldn't I have a choice of whether it appears on my hub?
               
               I can't switch categories. I really am writing about a chimpanzee.

   Great question - will carefully rewording of title have an effect on related hubs? It certainly has big effect on your hub score...

   It is possible that rewording your title might change the 'relevant hubs' section. I think, however, that the tags you use are what is causing them to show up - take a quick look at the hubs that are suggested to see if your tags are listed.

      No, it's not the tags. We have no tags in common. I think it must be the general category.

   My personal approach to offensive hubs is to spoof the rat-crap out of them and ridicule them horribly with sarcasm and levity.  Don't hide from them, expose them, gut them and empty them of their power to offend.

      Try changing the wordings of your tags. But if you can't beat them then you may intelligently have to try Shadesbreath style.

         I'm tellin' ya... nothing says fun like spoofing an offensive hub and then having your satirical version show up on THEIR related hubs.  That's just plain amusing right there.

   Well, with the abundance of categories we have currently on HP, I think you can always find one around that may be not the best fit but still match your hub, and at the same time won't have the controversial hubs you are talking about.
   
   That said, I personally grew tired of reacting to such things, and live peacefully with idiotic ads and related hubs. Those who can tell the difference - will, those who can't won't anyway

       Good question! Does anyone know the answer?
       
       One of my hubs on Bow & Literacy is currently showing Hal Licino's hub on automatic speed control as a related hub. Not only is that a bizarre choice, but also I think Hal just recently wrote that hub, and my hub is much older.
