Should we continue with hubpages or we should have our own website?

   What is advisable??
   
   Should we continue with hubpages till death or we should make our own website??
   
   I am asking this question from money making point of view.
   
   I suggest that start with hubpages, make your own website along with it, continue with hubpages till you get your own website ranked properly in Google, Yahoo and Bing. I mean if you can get your article indexed by Google, Yahoo and Bing by posting on hubpages as well as by posting on your own website, you can post article at both the places. A time will come when God will tell whether you should post your article only at hubpages or at your own website or at both. GOD Is GREAT

      I want to add one more thing---The same article can't be posted on both the sites i.e. your own website and hubpages.

      I do both but each case is different.
      
      If you can generate a considerable amount of content within a niche, then maintaining your own site or family of sites might be worthwhile.
      
      If a writer has no particular niche and simply writes about whatever topic is trending at the moment, revenue sharing sites might be the best option.

      Do both.
      
      Hub Pages can be a good source of traffic to your website and vice versa. it helps to increase overall exposure to your content.
      
      When you have your own websites, there's very few rules to abide by.

   First of all, I don't listen to God about where I should post my articles. I listen to keywords, and the money that rolls in.
   
   Secondly, you should not post the same articles on Hubpages and your own site. This is duplicate content and Google, Hubpages and your pocket doesn't like it.
   
   Otherwise I'd say yes, building your own websites is the best way to bring in money, once you've learnt the basics on Hubpages.

   That's what I do.
   
   It's not the same content on both, but it's similar content.
   
   Then point your HP links to the personal website.  You're allowed 2 per Hub.

         You're allowed two links pointing towards any one domain.
         
         So make a website, then write similar content and post it to hubpages linking back to your website.

            I see, so you mean in each hub you can only link to one website twice? Hmm, I never knew that. I have a site that I have been working on for a little while now, but I haven't posted links to it through my hubs except for one hub, which I actually posted about 5 links I think. It was a hub about my new site and I wanted to link to each of the blogs on the site, so I put a new link for each page, I hope that is okay.

               At some point I'm sure HP will find it.  You should check out the TOS and/or FAQ before you start posting on websites to make sure you're not doing anything wrong.

      Garrett, I think your profile is great and your hubs are terrific.
      From what I understand about what you posted here, so we are allowed to place back links to our own websites, in our hubs, if the content is similar of course
      2 questions:
      Is it ok if these web sites we link to, are not only personal but can be considered commercial ones?
      
      And, where are we allowed to place the link, is it in our profile pages or can we do it in a hub as well, if content is similar to our own site?

   Well, I hugely advise you to actually put together your own site. It may take some time away from your work on hubpages, but you will be able to easily link to your articles and bring in a lot of traffic. It is better to start a website earlier rather than later though because it takes a while to actually bring in a lot of traffic to your site. As it gets popular, you could be bringing in a nice amount of extra money.
   
   I would suggest using weebly to make yur site too. I wrote a couple of articles about weebly, it's a great system.

      I  regret it but I am slowly leaving Hub pages deleted some more Hubs las night doing same thing this morning. I do not want to leave but it's crazy at hub pages this is not happening at the other sites I write own I wrote two articles submitted both at same time to hub pages and another site Hubpages rejected as sub standard, it on first page Google #2 whats happening over here.

         You do know that you have to post only original content on HubPages right? Even if it your own article, you cannot post it to another writing site or even your own website as HP will deem it to be copied content

   As with others who already replied I advise you do both but starting with HubPages.
   
   You can keep the same niche but post different content about that niche on each site.

    It's definitely a good idea to stop and take a look around. 
    
    Put most of your efforts into your own site(s).  But also check out the revenue sharing competition.  Since moving on from HP I've found one rev share site that I've already started earning more from, on a daily basis, (after only a week of being a member) than I do from HP now, after two years and almost 300 hubs (across accounts).  Plus a few other newer rev share sites that aren't doing much worse for me than HP is now, with a lot less articles uploaded to them.
