Ugh. Really?

   Ok, it's not like Im trying to find reasons to complain, but Im completely befuddled over one hubbers site. Almost every single hub they've written is on how to date a beautiful woman. (Ive never seen her post on here so this isn't a backhanded way to make my point.)
   
   It almost seems like a joke... I can't imagine a less noble topic, unless you count the hubs of the person who just commented on said hubbers wall... all her hubs were about shoes. I really don't mean to be a jerk... I know it takes all kinds to make the world go 'round... and I can find something good about almost anyone, but it just seems so incredibly shallow to me. The subject appears almost pimp-like to me as I imagine love as something between two hearts. This is more like, "How to entrap someone you think yourself unworthy of." I don't know, maybe it's just a way to make money? Which kind of makes it seem pimpier...  I'll brace myself for your opinions, if you have any to share.

   From what I can gather, it is best to specialize your HubPage's subdomain, so perhaps that could be the reason.

      That's a matter of much debate.
      
      Without question, if you are running your own blog or website, you must specialize.  Absolutely, definitely, positively.   You're wasting your time if you don't.
      
      So in theory, because Google treats your sub-domain as its own little website, the same should apply.  But it doesn't - there are many successful Hubbers who write about anything and everything.  I confess, I don't know why that is.  I can only assume it's HubPages structure, which interlinks all the sub-domains. 
      
      Whatever the reason, it is possible to do well on HubPages with no particular focus.  In fact, if someone does have a specialist subject, I always recommend them to create their own blog instead, and use HubPages and other rev-sharing sites to promote it - because that has more longevity and more potential for success in the long run.

   I would guess we all do that to some extent; I hate writing sales hubs, but they earn.

      No, I wish I were making such a meaningful statement. I think the lack of value of her subject matter, and the sheer volume of her hubs of that title... just kinda piss me off. Maybe Im the shallow one.

         Are you jealous? Why does it bother you so much what other people write about?  Personally the idea of writing recipes and articles on stopping slugs eating your lettuces leaves me totally cold, but whatever floats your boat. It takes all sorts and it would be a very boring world if we were all the same.
         
         If this hubber has found a niche that is successful for them, then good on them.  How to catch a tall, dark  handsome billionaire has always been a popular topic.  And if you want a really good laugh have a look at some of the NLP videos on YouTube of geeky boys claiming they can pull a supermodel just by using a certain phrase or gesture.
         
         And if they are 'shallow' (and how can any of us possibly know from a set of hubs?) so what?  If they are happy doing what they do and live a peaceful contented life then that is great.  'Deep' is often overrated and a lot of people who think they are 'deep' are often just dull and pretentious.
         
         Here's to a bit of frivolous, shallow and unpretentious fun.  A bit of frothy writing.  Pass the billionaire lol!

   Life is hard... high hills, deep valleys.  More so, if you're a lonely guy who lives with mum, can't break the acne cycle, has small feet and a whole lot of hangups.... and secretly wants to learn How to Date a Beautiful Woman!  Who are we to criticize the reasons why some choose to read such hubs, when they contain far better advice than those offered on how to date ugly women? 
   Beauty is after all in the eyes of...... ???

      haha, yeah... I think I would like it if there were one entitled "How to date an ugly woman" but then that's not really right either.
      
      I guess you're right, it's wrong to criticize... it just annoys me that's all. Im sure there are worse problems in the world. Oh well.

      I agree with this. If someone somewhere finds the information useful, so be it.
      
      I have often toyed with the idea of starting a new subdomain just for dating and relationship advice, mainly for the fact that I bet people are Googling those sorts of questions all day long. I haven't done any research yet, and I've been too lazy to actually start a new subdomain, but this is such a universal topic I'm assuming it could be lucrative. Some of us are here to showcase poetry or fiction, some to debate politics, and others are here simply to make money. Why not make money here on a topic that many people would find useful?

   I dunno, without seeing the articles in question it's hard to have any opinion! If it is just generic dating advice disguised as "how to date beautiful women", whatever. If it is a bunch of manipulative, abusive pick-up-artist crap, it's really gross and shouldn't be on HubPages.

      I didn't want to include a link or her name cause I didn't think that was kind... this is just sort of generic... I guess the point I was trying to make was that it says a lot about our society. To me (and maybe I just have a funny skew on things) these hubs could have been entitled "how to marry rich" or "how to make money off the elderly" or "how to stalk someone without them knowing." It just has that feel to me of not being right. If I were searching for love, it would solely depend on the individual. I can't imagine caring more about what a gift was wrapped in than caring about what the gift was itself. I get that these hubs find their audience and we all have a right to write about whatever we choose, but the idea that this subject reflects our society, is depressing to me.
