    Hi all,

I've only just recently join Hubpages and already have 2 articles. Now, I tried to set up an account for the Hubpages earnings program which seems to have gone smoothly. So when I click on the earnings tab on my account at the top, then click on configure program, it tells me that the first step "Sign up for the HubPages Earnings Program" is complete. However, the next step says incomplete, the next step being "Associate a Google AdSense Account". So when I click on this to attempt to complete it, I get this message, "You may not apply for Google AdSense through HubPages because of the following issue:
It appears that you have associated a Google AdSense Account with HubPages with the publisher id ca-pub-#####....  but that the association process is not yet complete. You should have received instructions for completing the process by email from Google."

And I haven't yet received instructions for completing the process, given that this was at least 2-3 days ago. I'm quite confused so if somebody could please shed some light on the situation I would be most grateful.

    Thanks guys smile

You can't apply for the HubPages Earnings Program if you don't have an approved Adsense account - so you have to get your Adsense approved first, and it's unusual to get approved with less than 15 good quality Hubs under your belt.

    Hey Fresh Ploon!

It looks like your application is currently pending.

It is possible that your application is actually still in review, or, it's possible that you did not verify your email address.

Otherwise, if the application is still pending, it can take several weeks before the account is approved. You should definitely receive an email from Google regarding 1) the email address verification, and 2) the status of his account (approved/disapproved).

Hope that helps to clear things up- and if you have not yet verified your email address, be sure to do so! smile

      Hi Simone Smith,

I see, well firstly, my email has already been approved and have done so several times just to make sure.
I think I'm just being a little impatient actually hehe, but thanks for the help. You're probably right in that case, in that my account is under review.

Thanks for the help! Much appreciated! smile

Oh, good to know! Yeah- these things can take FAR longer than we would like. But as long as it works out in the end... I'm good!

It would be wise to get 8 more quality hubs in there before Google gets around to checking your account. The standard seems to be 10 hubs these days. Just saying... smile

You might find this useful from the FAQ at HubPages:

If you are applying to Google AdSense for the first time, we recommend postponing your application until you have at least ten high quality Hubs published (that is, ten Hubs of over 700 words each that are well-written, useful, attractive, and entirely original). We have found that Hubbers who have fewer Hubs, or just have a small collection of very short Hubs (even very good ones), are sometimes declined for having insufficient content. This is not always the case, but it is better to be safe than sorry!

Thanks for the great advice weekend. I think in all reality, I will probably get declined since I only have 2 hubs, albeit good quality ones, well the second one for certain is. So I'm prepared for that - upon which I shall make sure I have written a good 6- 8 more quality hubs before applying again.
