    The English royals, the Windsors, have been around for 9 decades.  However, the royal houses of England have existed for more than a millenium.  However, in this postmodern era, the House of Windsors have outlived its purpose.  Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip of England and the rest of the royal family are only defacto rulers as Great Britain has a prime minister and a parliament as rule of law.   

    However, there are those who believe in tradition and the Windsors, to them, are an integral part of this tradition.  They are royalists and believe in the olden glory days of Great Britain when the royal family was supreme.   Do you believe that the English royal house should be dismantled as it is now an outdated institution?

      Well past time, how can a nation with a straight face claim to reward merit and hard work when it has a class of super elite people living luxury based on the fact that they were born. It's a joke.

    There are modern reasons to want royals.  Governors General are a cheaper way to divide military and political power than a President.

    Yes. It's uses are only about perception: "Oh, it's really nice that we have a royal family . . . and the Queen works so hard!"

    I ask: so what? It's an outdated institution, but more importantly it represents something reprehensible: the idea that there are a select group of people that have a God-given right to rule over us, and we must bow.
