Yes I am liking duckduckgo as well.  All of my hubs are showing up in their searches.

I disagree... Pigeon Poop of any kind is a tough keyword to corner. Purple is a nice long-tail, but I wouldn't risk it.

Penguin poop is out too because of the whole Google thing...

If you are gonna try to rank... try purple phainopepla poop.  Much higher chance of ranking.

          This is a phainopepla....

If you look, you will see he actually is vaguely purple...

So either "purple phainopepla" poop or purple "phainopepla poop" or "purple phainopepla poop" will work.

It's like boxing your pick three number!

          Here's a more purpler phainopepla...

I'm sure you will agree that the purple plumage portrayed in the picture of the phainopepla is precisely perfect.

Purple Pigeon Poop would be a great name for a band...

Yup, good advice. We have to know what people want, what they're looking for, how they're looking for it, what's trending, what's hot, what's in the news, AND if it's something a different set of people will probably want next year (evergreen), that not many people are offering. Right?

Ranking #1 in Google is overrated anyway.

I've been seeing some traffic from duckduckgo.  I guess it is a search engine that does absolutely no tracking.  I think this one may gain in popularity.

I also noticed I rank quite well in this SE.

Anyone else getting traffic from this Search Engine?

Me, and this subdomain is less than two months old. Only 12 hits in total, but still!

I found it today, I like it.  Duckduckgo truly provides good search results.  I may be biased, as most of my hubs are ranking at the top of the searches!

Duckduckgo was mentioned by IzzyM, a couple of years ago. I agree, it has potential, I'm biased too. smile

And, it's telling searchers that they can search anonymously. I can see how this site might grow!

            https://duckduckgo.com/

Click on the search anonymously, for their low down about Google. Good stuff!

I searched for my subdomain name. I think I'm a duckduckgo fan. Besides, I like all things that have the word duck in it.

Melissa, I thought I was reading a Mark Ewbie post for a moment there.

    It's a good reminder. smile

(and now I'm so tempted to write a page on pigeon poop, just to see what on earth kind of traffic it would get. I'm such a little spy. I don't want to know who YOU are, but the crazy things people type into search engine boxes never fail to fascinate me.)

Oh, you're gonna try and out rank my 10,000 comments containing those keywords? Hahaha

Praise indeed for one of us - not sure who.  Anyway I thought about going for it as well but have not.  I do rank number one for something that doesn't even register on the adwords keyword thing.
