Tractor-trailer drivers will intentionally clog the inner loop of the Washington, D.C., beltway beginning on the morning of Oct. 11, according to a coordinator of the upcoming "Truckers Ride for the Constitution" rally.

Organizers of the three-day ride want to call attention to a litany of trucker frustrations and express their disapproval of national political leaders.

"We want these people arrested, and we're coming in with the grand jury to do it," he said. "We are going to ask the law enforcement to uphold their constitutional oath and make these arrests. If they refuse to do it, by the power of the people of the United States and the people's grand jury, they don't want to do it, we will. ... We the people will find a way."

FINALLY, some Americans that are willing to accept the risk to make a difference.  Will you support them?

I'm not sure why anybody would support them. As best as I can tell this is started by Pete Santilli, a lunatic radio host. Here's one example of his rhetoric: "[Hillary Clinton] needs to be tried, convicted and shot in the vagina." This guy basically rants and raves about taking back the government and "shooting commies for your mommy." Willingly associating with this maniac, if he is in fact the 'leader,' seems kind of stupid. And the event flyer I have seen looks like it was written by a 10 year-old. Hard to take very seriously.

Personally, I suspect it is the work of Santelli and he's just trying to boost his ratings, sort of in the style of Limbaugh or Alex Jones. If this was actually organized by truckers it would be a lot more credible. I can see truckers risking their livelihoods and their trucks for a good cause, but not for Santilli. That guy is just a nutjob. I suspect this is 95% hype and 5% reality. I am doubtful that there are very many actual truckers on board with this.

Well I guess everyone just does stuff for show these days. At least the truckers are sincere, unlike these publicity hounds:

    From Porttrucker

It's apparent to us that many of these current new laws and regulations which now are governing the trucking industry are being promoted solely by a few special interest groups who represent the wishes of a small minority of individuals. They have no real time hands on experience when it comes to the daily safe operation of a class 8 vehicle. Sadly, we as truckers have little to no voice when it comes to these important transportation matters.

Our lawmakers need to realize that the thousands of professional truckers who actually deliver America's freight should be included to contribute equally when it comes to critical decisions that effect everyone of us.

It seems all our legislators can do is constantly threaten to shut down the government each year because they want to argue like school kids on a play ground! Congress along with the Senate doesn't have the power to stop or move America, We do!

WITHOUT TRUCKS NOTHING MOVES DOOR TO DOOR IN THIS COUNTRY!

So if the majority of you are determined to take this action than do it right..

    TRUCKERS UNITE!

    Stop freight dead..

ALL FREIGHT.. MAKE THEM STAND UP AND TAKE NOTICE!

YES, THAT INCLUDES THE OCEAN PIERS, AS ONE TRUCKER FROM NEW JERSEY CALLS IT "PIER PRESSURE!"  APPLY PRESSURE AT THE CHOKE POINT, THE PIERS..

NO trucker haul any freight anywhere for a solid week, not just three days!!!

Those who can afford the diesel feel free to go join with hundreds of other truckers who are determined to blockade Washington, DC. (like the traffic isn't already bad enough) Show our legislators what the real world looks like inside the beltway for a few days! Show them who really delivers their products to a store near them.

WELL OK, seriously folks, to really hit our leadership in DC where it hurts you'll most likely have to run their capital "STARBUCKS" short on their favorite Cappuccino or Latte drink!

Our legislators don't have a clue what life is like outside the capital beltway..

               ****************************************************************

Below is what the grassroots group :

"SHUTDOWN AMERICA CAMPAIGN" on FACEBOOK, claims:

"American people are sick and tired of the corruption that is destroying America!
We therefore declare a GENERAL STRIKE on the weekend of October 11-13, 2013! Truck drivers will not haul freight! Americans can strike in solidarity with truck drivers! The American people are sick and tired of the corruption that is destroying America! We therefore declare a GENERAL STRIKE on the weekend of October 11-13, 2013! Truck drivers will not haul freight! Workers will call in sick! Consumers will not buy or sell anything on this date! Stay home! Buy nothing!

Sounds like the truckers have the right cause and they have the guts to protest.
But they need to make sure to do it legally.

And even though, honestly,  they along with all conservatives DO legally have enough against the current Administration and most of Congress to perform a "citizens' arrest" and charge them with treason (with or without the specific truckers' complaints)  the last I heard, they weren't gonna try to arrest anyone,  they decided to ask lawmakers to resign.
Hey, there's a whoooollle bunch of 'em on Capitol Hill and in the White House who should do exactly that!

That being said, they're basically targeting the wrong people if they're including ALL of Congress in that.
The person who should be charged with treason (and held to responsibility for the current government shutdown) resides in the White House.   And some of his cronies are in Congress, but not all of them.

In reading some more of those links,  it does look like those truckers have legitimate gripes.   Looks to me like it's similar to the way the government tried to take away all the older civilian vehicles on the roads by the Cash for Clunkers program while in the process of course making many people go into debt for "new" cars.
The issue with the EPA and all that does indeed seem to show that the government is forcing undue regulations upon owner/operators and other truckers!
I'm glad truckers are gonna make their voices heard;  this really is a big deal.   I just hope it's legal protest and nobody gets hurt or arrested in their group!     I mean, otherwise, they could assert their citizens' rights in other formats of course just like other citizens do.

Isn't the best way to clog up Washington simply getting yourself elected to the House as a member of the Tea Party?

      Funny.

I heard Obama'a legacy is to be remembered forever by placing his image on the fastest growing form of currency.

Yea, cuz the Tea Party has done so much to remedy that problem, huh?

Its too bad Obama can't force business owners to pay a living wage.
