For a very long time now my hubber score has lingered between 96 and 100. About a week ago it dropped to 93, and now is down to 91. Although people say this score does not matter, it matters to me. Yes, i have deleted a few hubs recently, but I have also added some. I've also done a great deal of upgrading...and after all of that work, my score drops? This sucks!
If you visit my profile you will see I found a way to fix that :-)
I looked...didn't see anything except a "1" in front of your 76. How DID you do that??
Yeah, see 176 is a great score! Now that I'm over 100 I don't have to be bothered with worrying about it. I just put a one in the avatar pic.... Not a real fix but hey, the number was meaningless to me anyway. Now I can pretend it has meaning. lol
I know how you feel. I sympathize because everyone says it does not mean a thing but it does when you work for not a lot of rewards. The same thing happened to me. I consistently had high hub scores and then there was a sudden drop down to 86 and it stayed like that for a long while. I even deleted some hubs in an effort to improve the score. I think I would prefer that we did not have a profile scores at all, especially when it reflects badly on us and for no reason at all. I fail to see how deleting Hubs can be a good thing when clearly HubPages need Hubs to place Advertising on - seems to me that this in no a win, win situation.
I've read a lot of posts about dropping hubber scores and no one seems to know why it's happening. A few weeks ago I dropped from my steady 98 down to 92 and stayed there for about ten days. Then my score started creeping slowly back up and I'm now back to 98. My activity stayed about the same - posting one hub a week and leaving comments and responses. I can't explain it. I hope your score rebounds just as mine has.
Mine used to be much higher also but it seemed over time as I stopped writing new hub pages the traffic declined and so did my score.
The same happened to me a couple of months ago. If this eventually happens to everyone, then OK. If not, then it can be a problem.
The largest affect that I have seen is that many of my fellow Hubbers are a little lazy, in that they pick the ones they read from the top-hubs list which is ordered by score. So, I immediately began getting less HP readers.
Oh Well!
DON
I never like to delete hubs for low traffic, because I never know what might appeal to someone else. I will upgrade a hub in an attempt to improve a low quality score (happened a couple of times) and then they were featured for a short time. I have tried to ignore my score and focus on the comments and fan mail that I am lucky enough to receive from so many good people. That is what I appreciate more. But it is frustrating!!!
I don't even worry about the score for now, I love that HP widget we can use to paste all over the web it's cool! if you have another site, you can paste it there, which I've done and also promote. Gets a little busy with promotion efforts but it is as it's been said, 20% writing, 80% promoting so calm yourself. Write today and promote tomorrow and day after
The scores stump me... I'm not even sure what they're for. I just try to write good hubs and think of the reader, and I take pride in my work and what I put out there. If it generates a good score it's completely by coincidence, lol.
I find that sometimes when I do a lot of revisions and updating on a lot of hubs, the score drops. And I've noticed it rises a bit when I published more consistently like every day or every other day.
What's weird is that both my CPMs and my numbers are as high as they have ever been right now. I don't get it!
I'm the poster child for dropping hub scores.I use to hover in the mid 90's then...one 9 flipped over 6...and one 9 got real skinny 1...and now my cat doesn't love me anymore...and my GF wont,well...she just wont that's all!...Oh Please JesusMohamadBudhaBrahmaEtcEtc...turn my upside down 6 back up to A..."9" and fatten up that skinny 1
I am brand new to hubpages. What determines a hub score?
People are talking about HubberScore in this thread.
It is often confused with HubScore.
You can find details about both here.

Thanks Matthew and Examiner for the reading matter, I'm learning something now.
My hubber score went all the way up to 100 for more than a week this summer, and it has steadily declined to the mid to upper 80s since. In the 3 years I've been here it's averaged in the mid 90s. As far as I can tell I've never done anything differently from one day to the next.
Sure it matters to me. It's an assessment of my work. It just seems arbitrary and something I really can't do anything about.
My score also used to always be in the 90's. But when I stopped sending them that weekly box of donuts... Well, you see what happened.
It would really be nice to know what it is that makes these scores fluctuate. Why is this such a big secret?

For a good number of weeks my hubber score has hovered around the 100 mark. Two days ago it started falling, and as I write this, it is down to 89! If this keeps up, it will be 0 in a week! No rhyme or reason to it, but it leaves me wondering why this is happening. I know...

In the past four months I have had increasing views, higher CPMs, have been adding articles (and deleting some losers), good Amazon sales...and my Hubber score has dropped from 97 to 91 in the past few weeks! I don't get it...anybody else seeing this problem or can the team explain...

I took a hiatus for awhile from Hub Pages! However, in the past week or so, I have added new hubs participated in forums, asked a question or two, participated with the Hub Hopper, have read some Hubs, yet my Hubber Score is lower than it was when I was doing nothing. I don't get it!

I've been on here for a few years, and I guess I never really understood the point of these scores. They don't seem to provide any real value to the user and I can't convince myself that they add value because they fluctuate so much. What's the point? Am I supposed to use these scores to tell me...

Since HP decided to kick our articles back to Discover, for some inexplicable reason, my Hubber score has plummeted. It is still kind of hanging in there on this account because I still have articles on niche sites, but on my other accounts it has dropped into the 60s. Prior to the move, it was in...
