I was wondering if anyone could think of any way to use multiple computers on one single desk - i.e. use both computers in coordination with each other. These would both be laptops.
I don't understand your question, do you mean use two at the same time with just one screen? Or combine the computing power or use two at the same time, one for FB and one for HP? Please be more specific.
Do you mean you want two people to work on the same document simultaneously? Or maybe both computers able to use the piece of software that is on only one computer? Co-ordination for what?
You could use one central mouse and keyboard for each and use something like this. http://synergy-foss.org/
Thanks Matthew. I see this could be used for workplace stuff. One for the mainframe, one for the PC stuff, and one for the report generating PC. Much less taxing I would think especially when running very large file transfers programs (FTP). That always lead toward long walks of waiting.
@tsmog My experience is that Synergy isn't the easiest to setup.
For some good cross-platform functionality, you could also use something like Chrome Remote Desktop. It is free and runs as a system service and allows you to access your computers from other devices.
So you could setup a Window, OS X, and Chrome OS machines and access them all from your Android phone or tablet and just about anything that runs Chrome.

I use multiple monitors, but not computers. I never did that, but it surely sounds interesting. And by the reply of DreamerMeg, I'm confused by your question. Please elaborate.
