Why did the Universe create the solar system so perfectly? Is it unique in the universe? Or are there other systems like ours? I personally think we are unique.
That the Earth and moon fit together perfectly into a squared circle shows me we are special and perfect. Is it a teaching tool? Is there something we are supposed to figure out?
We are not at all special. We orbit a rather large fast burning sun that is about half way through it's life cycle. The moon used to be much closer to the earth than it is now and it will eventually fall out of orbit. The earth is rather close to the sun and as the sun heats up the earth will eventually be to hot for life. Many planets have been found that are in a much better position to sustain life than our earth, including one in our solar system. If mars was larger it would be a better home than the earth. There are smaller stars with orbiting planets that have been around since the beginning of time and will continue to shine light on their planets long after we are gone.
So, we orbit a rather fast burning second or third generation star and we have only become to be half way through that stars life. We will eventually not be able to sustain life on this planet because of it's proximity to it fast burning sun. There are billions of better stars in this galaxy and billions of galaxies. Nothing special here.
As Dudley points out, our solar system is hardly perfect. That a circular orbit fits into a squared circle is a matter of geometry and will happen every time (although the moons orbit is not a perfect circle).
The earth is subject to collisions on a daily basis; that most are small does not mean it big one won't destroy either life or the earth itself (happened before, you know). The biggest thing we need to figure out is how to survive in spite of the hostile conditions (did you know we spend large sums trying to track and figure out how to avoid large collisions?). Not to marvel at the "perfectness" that exists only in our limited observations.
I wasn't talking about the orbit. The Earth and moon's diameters fit into a squared circle.
It's superstitious to pretend that means something. If we take the diameter of the earth and compare it to other bodies in our solar system we will find some mathematical connections, but so what? It's much like a psychic mentioning 100 things that do not pertain to us and then stumbles upon one that does and that's all we remember.
Still losing me. A square around the moon, with the corners defining a circle the size of the earth? Doesn't work; the earth is twice the size of the square.
The Universe didn't create the solar system. Scripture makes it clear who created ALL things. It was Jesus/The Word. See John 1.
Lots of people don't believe in Jesus - and the main reason is because they're not convinced by whatever "evidence" is presented for him. While it's understandable that you and many other people believe that the Bible is true - a lot of the times because it says it is - that's simply not convincing for the majority of people around the world. 2/3 of the world's population is not Christian - that's simply the reality of the world. Whether people believe in another religion or no religion at all, significant proof has not been presented to convince the majority of people world-wide that either the Bible, Jesus or the Christian message is true and should be believed.
Don't you mean:

?
If you draw enough triangles, squares, circles and quadrilaterals, you can make the earth fit anything. The sun, Jupiter, solar system, even the galaxy. All it means it that you are clever in fitting geometric shapes together.
Superstitions get started that way. If it was half the earths size, quarter or whatever, it would see?
Don't be discouraged janesix...

Do you believe that there is life on other planets besides Earth and what makes you think so.There are so many schools of thought (religious and secular) about life on earth and other planets. Are we alone in the universe or did life sprang into being elsewhere? Did God only have enough time for...

Why are people willing to believe in Aliens, that we really do not have proof, they existed or exist? On the other hand, could it be Angles that help mankind? Did you ever wonder? “The Book of Enoch”

Is there life on other planets? What do you think?Scientific descoveries suggest that some planets are too hot or too cold for life and that others have no water and so on. But surely humans and animals canNOT be the only living creatures in the whole of the solar system...some even claim to...

The reality is that we are alone in this eternal, dark, and cold universe. Why can't we accept this reality? Death is the end. There is no heaven, and there is no hell. We do not need religion in order to have a purpose in life. The purpose is to survive and not harm...

Many scientists believe their is life on other planets. Not on Mars or Venus but in the next Solar System. What do you think and should NASA take this issue seriously?

Which is more likely to exist, God or extra-terrestrials?I do not believe in either but lately there seems to be more evidence for ETs. Share your answer and why.
