How do I improve my hub score

   Pardon me if I use the wrong terminology, but why is my profile's score so low compared to my hubs scores? Granted, my hubs are not super high (average is about 70) but my profile is only at 32. I'm wondering if this has something to do with a hub that I drafted and then updated without posting...it didn't have hardly anything in it as I intended to go back when I had more time. I got a warning that it was too low of quality, but I didn't even post it? Is there a way to draft a hub without publishing that won't punish your score? Is that even the reason?

      Hubs which have never been published don't count in you scores.  Most people have several of them, so don't worry about any warnings you see on those until you are ready to publish.
      
      I think your Hubber Score will go up after you have five Hubs published and have finished Boot Camp:

         I didn't even think of the hub boot camp, that in all honesty may be what has happened. I definitely didn't publish it but it sent me a warning.

      It sounds like you submitted a Hub for publication that you meant to keep as a draft.
      Each time you submit a Hub it is evaluated by the QAP and those HubScores are reflected in your Hubbercore.
      
      When you create a Hub, you have the option to save it unpublished or to submit it for publication.
      If you save it unpublished, then it is not evaluated by the QAP yet.
      If you submit it to be published, it is queued to be evaluated by the QAP.
      
      So if you are not finished with a Hub and are not ready to publish it, make sure to save it unpublished.
      You can then edit it and submit it at a later time when you are ready.
      
      So for a new Hub that has not been published, the options are "Preview", "Publish Now" or "Done Editing".
      For a Hub that is not published, clicking "Done Editing" will save your change, but not publish the Hub.

         Thanks, that's exactly what I was trying to do. I think my game plan is to draft them on Microsoft word and directly transfer them over from now on to avoid any accidental publishings.

            There can be potential formatting issues if you copy and paste directly from a formatted Word document.
            
            If you are using Microsoft Word, make sure to save as a text file and copy that content.

      how many hubs have you published and got featured? As long you have 50 hubs, I am sure your score will sky rocket very fast. It took me 6 months to get there

   Don't waste your time, start your own blog. But if you choose to just write from your heart, but mostly write things you know well and write quality articles.

   Just an update:
   
   My score dropped all the way down to a 12 overall while I was away on vacation. I then posted on a few different hubs, forums, and answers and my score went up to a 16 overnight. It's not anything to brag about, but I've decided that a lot of my overall hub score has nothing to do with my actual hub scores but with participation on the site. So, I guess I will have to make an extra effort to be active regularly on here. I just wish being absent for four days didn't knock me down so low...
