   What do you contend is the present state of the United States under President Obama?  Do you feel that America has progressed significantly under President Obama or do you feel that the state of America has gotten worse, even devolved under President Obama?   Your thoughts & assessments?

               Not sure what the extra comment has to do with anything, but I will say that neither one is out of line.  Deporting anyone, Christian or otherwise, that is a citizen of a foreign country and refuses to follow our laws is entirely justified.  Taking in Muslim refugees is also quite reasonable...IF they can be vetted.  That seems difficult, though.

      It has progressed in many aspects... And has gotten worse in others. That's the same with any and every goverment.
      
      There are also things that has gotten worse because of him (and what he represent) but not because of his fault.

         When I consider that it was Obama who pulled the troops out of Iraq, and surrendered its safety to al-Qaeda and the creation of other terrorist groups that filled the vacuum, the mass murders of civilians and put the whole world in danger, including the United States...I respectfully do disagree. 
         
         Obama knew what would happen because military leaders, Generals and Admirals, advised him of what Bush knew too.  Granted, G.W. Bush wasn't the brightest kid on the block, and even though someone else likely wrote his speak that he read....he did warn us as to what would happen if we left Iraq.   
         
         What he said...is true today, not because of his actions as president, but because of Obama's direct actions as acting president and his failed foreign policies.

            My dear friend we were never in control of Iraq. The festering wounds of the make believe borders was instituted by the British who paid no attention to the strife among the tribes and religion in the region. Saddam Hussein, a brutish and heinous dictator was placed there by the US to serve our interests and well he did until he wanted a bigger piece of the area namely Kuwait.
            
            Sure we can go back into the region again guns blazing spending all kinds of life and money but you cannot fight a terrorist/guerilla war with conventional means. I thought we learned this in Vietnam. This was an atrocity of political blunders from the beginning and it still is a political quagmire. When will we ever learn?

            Yes, Obama  pulled the troops of the area as they should not have been there in the first place. If he had left them there, the Right would be griping about that as well. This thing in Iraq had been dragging on, costing more and more and I am not willing to commit myself to a long term presence in the region.
            
            Bush's attack on Iraq was unwarranted and unjustified, leaving Obama to clean up his mess. We were at war with Al Queda in Afghanistan, since when was Saddam Hussein a target?
            
            It is the foolhardy nature of the Right to think that standing armies, military posturing has no limits on costs and lives involved.

               Its not about the Right or the Left...its about a hand-full of rich and powerful elites with all the money whos talk pulls the strings of those who are in office.  I could swear Bush's life was in danger before, during and for sometime after 911, (read the timeline of Bush on the day). There has to be a reason for Obama's action or lack of leading.  I am starting to believe if O doesn't make an even bigger mess of things that his life would be in danger.

            A strong opinion such as this can only be made stronger when supported by facts. Generally, if the facts don't agree, then a review of the opinion might be in order.
            
            Here is a Wikipedia snippet presenting some facts about the Iraq troop withdrawal. There are a lot of other sources, but this quickie covers the point.
            
            "The withdrawal of U.S. military forces from Iraq was a contentious issue in the United States for much of the 2000s. As the war progressed from its initial invasion phase in 2003 to a nearly decade-long occupation, American public opinion shifted towards favoring a troop withdrawal; in May 2007, 55% of Americans believed that the Iraq War was a mistake, and 51% of registered voters favored troop withdrawal.[7] In late April 2007 Congress passed a supplementary spending bill for Iraq that set a deadline for troop withdrawal but President Bush vetoed this bill, citing his concerns about setting a withdrawal deadline.[8][9][10] The Bush Administration later sought an agreement with the Iraqi government, and in 2008 George W.
