   Hello all..just wanted to post a general comment..so far i have posted a few things and seem to be getting some somewhat positive feedback from others..which is encouraging. People seem really nice and take the time to say a kind word here, which is a nice breath of fresh air in a somewhat fickle world that we all can be faced with. I am really impressed with all the interfaces of the site and how the layout works..the people who develop this and maintain everything should be very proud of their work because it comes of super pro and top notch. Such great content too i could spend hours upon hours reading the articles. So with that i would to say hi, feel free to comment or follow my stuff. I look forward to further honing and improving my writing skills..i hope you all enjoy it as i look forward to our interactions!! Cheers from the NEWBIE!!!

      With reference to what Marisa advised, I would add to be much more specific.  You really can't write "all about...." about anything in a single article.  Narrow it down.  Break the info into several hubs that are offshoots of your main idea.  For example, think about the best foods for this breed, how to keep their coats healthy, intelligence, training, etc. etc.
      
      Most people searching the web want very specific information.  They don't want to wade through tons of information that is irrelevant to their needs.

   Welcome to HubPages, Jesse!    Just a tip:   when choosing a title for a Hub, forget everything you ever learned about writing a "catchy" or clever title. 
   
   Although you're enjoying feedback and readership from other Hubbers right now, once your Hubs are a little older they won't get much internal traffic, and if you want readers, you will need to attract them from the search engines (mainly Google).   Google tries to give people results most relevant to their search, and the title of your Hub is one of the most important elements they will consider.  So, to maximise your readers, your title should use the phrases or sentences that people are most likely to type into Google to find your Hub. 
   
   So for instance, you have a Hub called "Read all about it:  the English Springer Spaniel".  In a newspaper or magazine, that would be a good title.  But ask yourself, how many people are likely to type that into Google?  Probably no one - so that makes it a bad title for an online article. 
   
   What would people type into Google, if they were looking for the kind of information you offer in that Hub?  I'll leave that for you to think about, as you know the subject better than me.  But whatever it is, that should be your title.  It's practically guaranteed to be boring, but that doesn't matter.   
   
   Put simply, your title is there to attract Google - your summary and first few sentences are there to "hook" the reader and make them want to click and visit your Hub.

   I understand what you are saying. My first inclination is to have a catchy title, as to draw in a reader because they may feel engaged to further looking into what you are trying to convey. I hate boring. I often will overlook an article just because of an inferior title. So my question for everyone is..don't the search engines detect the keywords and just work around that? You referenced my article about springer spaniels. If someone is looking for breed info or just wants to read an article i don't understand why that won't come up as it does not seem overly bloated or filled with long text. Read All About It: The English Springer Spaniel. Does something like...English Springer Spaniel Dog Breed Information read better to the engines? Thanks for taking the time to write and give advice, i really appreciate it as this will help me grow and become a better member here. Anyone else, please feel absolutely free to give thoughts on the subject as well. Thank you all!

   Just another thought..how to you get exposure if all the springer articles are written in the same short text? How do you get filtered through that to rise above the other articles if many of the titles are worded the same?

      The title is the most important thing, and THEN Google will look at the content, including things like keywords.  One of the most difficult things for HubPages writers is that Google also looks at the site where the content resides - it will give more credence to a post about dogs on a site about dogs, than to a post about dogs on a generalist site like HP.   So you need to be extra thorough and comprehensive to beat the competition.
