Why would Obama release so many from Gitmo at such a crucial time?

Does anyone really believe there is any good reason for doing this? What is wrong with this man? Is he trying to prove all the bad things said about him being one of them is true? Don't we all know what these terrorists are going to do as many of the others have and return to the battle against us all?
Yet he plans to release even more, all of them if he can! Can no one stop his insanity? Would it surprise anyone if he even let them in our country as refugees?

Hi, Jackie, to Obama and Hilary there is. To show Americans that the Dem's have more of a compassionate heart than the Repubs. Very easy to figure out.

Compassion for terrorists? Sounds about like them.

I think Obama said he would close Gitmo during his first year.  Given what has happened with those who were traced back to the terror field, it is frightening.  It makes me wonder, what was the purpose of Gitmo?  They should have had a plan for the final resting place for those who are a threat to the United States.

It seems Congress should have been involved in a case-by-case evaluation of each detainee.  Some are gooing to the UAE???  Is that a good idea????

I'm sure many of them were plotting their next moves while they were in there.  Bagdadi should have been our wake up call.

Really, I do not know why they are letting him get by with so much that puts us in such danger. He has to know just what he is doing and it is not good so surely someone can put the brakes on him unless they are are part of it too.

If you don't know which forum to post in, give everyone a break and don't post at all.

Thank you, Solaras. I usually come to the forums once or twice a day, but rarely have anything to add to the discussion.

When I saw her two political threads at the top of the discussion list last night, I thought I'd somehow landed on the topical forums. Most annoying.

It can be challenging.  JL was told repeatedly to post political thread in the topical forums but to no avail.  She continuously post the political thread in the Freeform Forum Section.  She rationalizes it by stating that her political forums really "aren't that political".  Mark my words, she will post yet another political thread in the Freeform Section.

I wish people would read what the forum they are posting in is intended for. It seems there are certain Hubbers who think Freeform Discussion is a sort of miscellaneous section, which it is not.

Freeform is intended for games & just fun.  JL KNOWS this, she has been here 5 years.  She is just being contrary, seeking attention.  She definitely knows better.

I told her what Freeform Discussion is for only a couple of days ago when she posted there inappropriately (yet again), and this was her reply:

"I looked for it under Freeform Discussion but did not find it but figured it is about a candidate's health and maybe life so maybe not so political just because she is a polititian but I do wish the other could have been found. Forgive me."

I'm under the impression that she doesn't understand how it all works.

But , We learn so much on forums , What ever one does , never try to  outflank a liberal in a forum , they are very sore losers  and resort to a  cat-fight mentality !

"This is my forum thread -- No it's mine !  Whaaaaah!"

I literally just moments ago  posted a hub about this. (Check it out and follow me!) There really is no real explanation as to why the administration is so eager to gamble with American lives when so many former GITMO detainees have managed to find themselves on the battlefield again.

My guess is that the administration wants to seem like a compassionate one, which of course is noble but not realistic. By indicating that "we aren't playing their game", they in fact will continue to play their dirty game and more people will get killed. Appeasing evil never works, you have to confront it and take care of it.

I agree.  I do not know why the American people keep electing the people they do.  In 2008 the knew where peoples loyalty was but they elected the same people again.  All they have done is make more promises to break and put the county deeper in debt and make it weaker.  I do not know if this country would be able to defend itself it our mainland was attached.  They pulled together when Pearl Haber was hit but there was a totally different type of leader.  Back then the country had a leader that carried about the country and its people.  Do not get me wrong because FDR was far from perfect but he carried.

Obama is on his way out, who really cares anymore. He has flooded our country with Muslims and terrorists, it's 8 years to late for us. His damage has already been done. The question now is, who's going to fix it?!

    1. norlawrence profile image68
norlawrenceposted 8 years agoin reply to this

That is a very good question and I have no clue.  I only know Hillary is not the one.  Trump can not open his mouth without getting in trouble.  The only thing he has going is he is not a politician so he is not as politically corrupt as Hillary.  Not yet anyway.  Sure hope their is someone out there to help us.  When you go back in history the Muslims have always hated anyone one who was not Muslim.  This goes back to before the time of the Crusades.  Nothing has changed.

Well if Hillary follows in his footsteps and she has promised more bad, then he will not be leaving and it will definitely get worse.

I wish America would wake to the fact that Obama is treasonous in his policies  supporting our enemies .
And just What percentage of terrorists at Gitmo  have returned to terror - 30 %?

The question I'd like answered instead of this one is why was Gitmo opened in the first place? We chose to create a facility which would foment hatred toward our nation with no logical end plan in place. You can't hold people in limbo for a lifetime. You can't reasonably think that after what they experience there that they won't be more resolved to fight against us.

Don't blame Obama. Let's blame Bush for creating the problem of Gitmo.
