It's not clear by what means are the hub moderated. So I'd like to know before comitting to hubpages.
Hi StuffsInteresting,
You can find a guide to our moderation policies here: https://hubpageshelp.com/standards/Lear … -standards
OK thanks that confirms what I read here http://hubpages.com/community/forum/925 … ed-4-times it's just a small team that decides.
So it's like dictatorship if let's say I write an article on Apple products and they do hate Apple they will dismiss it.
Why don't they use the whole community to moderate like everywhere else : stackoverflow have millions of users are well referenced on Google so this is much more efficient.
If your page was dumped immediately there was probably a reason. Why not work out what the reason was and write a better one?
If you write an article on Apple products, it is likely to be rejected - think how many other articles like it are out there. However, if you write a hub on how to deal with a specific issue with a certain product, i.e. an article which is going to be useful, then it will probably be published.
HubPages is not a marketing website. It's aim is for writers to produce interesting articles which are informational, well-written and entertaining. Just like a print magazine.
Stackoverflow is a completely different kind of website: people join it to share information and network with other professionals, not to post articles to make money.
As soon as you bring money into the equation you attract a lot more spammers and scammers. HubPages did rely on community moderation for a long time, but it wasn't enough to keep the quality high. You might feel they have now gone too far in the other direction, but they are doing their best to protect their business.

If I am not wrong comments were moderated before we were given the chance to view them and choose to accept or deny it, at least in case of unregistered users. Am I wrong in thinking this was the case and it was just something on QnA?If it was, is this no longer the case?I have been getting a lot...

I find it hilarious that Hubpages pushes the concept of helping new Hubbers yet my Hub which has had very good reception by the community has been flagged for being both overly promotional and substandard.I had 5 social bookmarking links, and 2 other links to free tools absolutely related to the...

I have just found that a 3 day old hub has been moderated as substandard and I am having difficulty understanding what needs to be addressed.None (in my view) of the 'common reasons' for moderation seem to fit.I have read the FAQ and Maddies hub about the issue but none of this helps. Before I...

By means of substandard quality? One of which has almost 700 views on it. These three hubs have been on here for over a year and are now being flagged although they generate comments and daily reads. I don't understand if they were good enough for the last year and a half and now aren't? Please...

About a month ago I wrote a Hub about pyramids, those big things in Egypt. It hasn't done nearly as well as I thought it would. I took a closer look at it today and it had a warning message on the top of it, that my Hub appears to be about pyramid schemes and may be moderated. No...

Isn't this Q&A moderated? It has been taken over by religious (Christian) wackos. There are forum threads where they can debate how many angels dancing on their pinheads and write about the ***** that no one would otherwise read.I thought this Q&A section was supposedly about...
