Can anyone explain to me what I have to do to get clicks on the pages.
I have set up a couple of chanels on a few pages. but...? Thanks
You have to get visitors for your Hubs. Hubpages doesn't do that for you.
Other Hubbers are very unlikely to click an ad on any Hub, so you have to get outside traffic.
Jenn Knows just did a Hub on getting traffic recently - or you can read any of the free downloadable internet marketing ebooks called "How To Get A Flood Of Targeted Traffic" or some variation thereof.
Google "free download how to get traffic to my site" and you'll find dozens.
Jenny
Thanks for that I have put links on my blogs and on my emails but doesnt seem to work. But will try more. thanks again for your help
Having unique and useful content will get the attention of Search Engines.
The traffic is free and top quality.
Just checked your hub http://hubpages.com/hub/-Reviewing-Toilet-Papers-
I love offbeat and whimsical ideas!
Now I can understand using the words "reviewing toilet papers" in your URL. Though I'm not keen on the hyphens at the start and at the end.
Personally I'd go for http://hubpages.com/hub/toiletpaper
I don't know if anyone is going to do a search for "toilet paper reviews" but I think if I had it as a tag it'd help, even if I don't have the word "review" in my URL.
The advantage of the way I'd select a URL is that it's so much easier for me to communicate it to another person. Word of mouth.
I don't make it a habit of mentioning my hubs (and other webpages) in polite conversation, but if for whatever reason there was a perfectly good motive to talk about a hub, then saying "hubpages dot com slash hub slash toilet paper" would be a lot easier than saying "hubpages dot com slash hub slash hyphen reviewing hyphen toilet hyphen papers hyphen"
But that's just me.
Sometimes I feel the need to break up a URL with hyphens or underscores, but I wouldn't make it harder by sticking in extra unneeded ones.
I notice you haven't done the preceding and trailing hyphen on all your hubs. But I thought I'd just point that one out.
And by the way, I still find some decent specials on toilet paper over this side of Australia. I can't see the point of paying more than 50 cents per roll.
Eileen
I haven't posted my links in many places but I'm still getting clicks. Not a lot, but enough to keep me happy!
Do you mean you're not getting page views (on your HubPages statistics) or you're not earning anything on Adsense? If it's Adsense, are you positive you've typed the right code in?
When you check out the Adsense report, the first screen you see only shows the amount you've earned that day. I'm embarrassed to admit it took me a while to realise I had to change the drop down box to "all time", to see what I'd actually earned!
Right now, I'm going back over my Hubs and dressing them up with pictures and videos. That makes them look nicer but also, I'm told, makes them more attractive to search engines because they have more variety of content.
I'm also taking a tip from Mark Knowles and removing most of the links I had to other sites. Mark pointed out that once the reader has read your article, you want them to click on one of your Adsense or Amazon ads. If you give them a link to some other site, they're more likely to click on that link and not come back to your ads.
Thanks Darkside for you good reply. I will alter that title for sure.
When I said I didnt get any clicks I didnt have the channels set up right, so can see that I have a couple in there now.
Now regarding the - I didnt put any hyphens in there....although I read somewhere in here about others having them in theirs too and they didnt put them in either.
your lucky on 50 c ones and quality is getting even worse
I found the quality of some of the cheaper ones were disgusting. More holes in them than paper. Thanks for help.
Marissa Thanks too No I got the impressions but couldnt see any clicks at all but had not set it correct with url channels. Can see some now.
I have done the same with mine going over them to add bits and pieces.
Although I have don what Mark said not too I have been adding outside links on how to etc. Thanks again for your help
