This Sunday, I've submitted my home office desk hub to Dengarden. Today it was declined. I'm up for ideas on how to improve it and try it again next year. I've included the link to the hub: https://hubpages.com/living/Back-to-Bas … ter-Desks. (I hope this link works.) Thanks.
FYI - Your link isn't working because you included a period at the end. But I found your Hub anyway.
A few thoughts (in my opinion):
Your lead image needs to be replaced. It is floated right, which is no longer okay, and it appears too small to center properly (maybe not - you can try).
I'd get rid of "Back to Basics" in the title. In fact, you might want to change the title altogether. Think about what people search for. 5 Ways to Arrange a Desk in Your Home Office. How to Set Up a Desk in Your Home Office. How to Choose the Perfect Desk for Your Office or Dorm. Something like that. This is why keyword research is so important.
Your title and some of your subtitles are not formatted correctly. I make these mistakes all the time, and the editor will fix minor issues, but you have a few glaring errors there.
You usually don't need header text for your images. It's better to include a caption. This gives your images alt tags and cuts down on the possibility of overusing H2 tags. Again, they need to be centered.
You have a big white space between two of your capsules (just above the first poll).
You used "Decks" instead of desks in one header.
Overall, I think the biggest issue is that the information needs to be organized better. I got confused partway through, because you seem to jump around a lot. Organize your content into logical headers such as a section on why it is important to arrange a desk properly, another on how to choose a desk, another on how to arrange different desks, issues you might come across, etc. (those are examples, and maybe bad ones, you have to figure it out).
Those are my thoughts. Good luck!

Kristen, all capsules have to be full-width now.
There's a big blank space in the middle. Go into the text capsule before it. Put your cursor right at the end and press Delete a couple of times.
"Search the state and town nearest you. omparison shop to find the right one for you." Missing C.
"The perfect desk should have, at least, two to four drawers--with an optional middle desk," Middle desk?
Read your text out loud. Run your spell-checker. Paste text into Grammarly. These might help pick up those little typos.
Hope that helps.
Thanks Bev. I don't know why my links aren't working on these forum posts. I do run it through the Grammarly plug-in installed on my computer. At least I can fix typos.
It's because you added a period to the end of the link
Thanks Eric. I've tried to take a photo of my desk with my smartphone and it came out backward three times.
If the number 666 appears on any of those images, I would ditch the phone, lol.
paint.net is your friend. It's free (nothing to do with Microsoft). Image/rotate/save. You can crop, brighten and do quite a lot of photo edits in it.
Will, it's a new Smartphone, an Android. No 666 anywhere though.
Hey Kristen! I just looked at your article and here are some things that I think you could do to have a better shot at a niche site:
- I would change the title to just "Perfect Positions for a Home Desk" or something even more searchable like "Where to Put a Home Office Desk" or "What is the Best Kind of Desk for a Home Office?"
- All of your capsules should be full-sized, so you'll want to make sure that all of your pictures are full-sized and they probably don't need borders
- You should credit your pictures, even if they're your own. If you need more photos Unsplash has become a really awesome resource
Kiersten, thanks so much for your pointers. I appreciate the help. I'll work on it next year.

I started a new Hub, https://hubpages.com/entertainment/Opra … rit-Guide, but it will not let me do anything with it. I cannot add capsules, add a summary, add text, or add photos. I can edit my old Hubs, however (I checked to see if it was a system wide problem).

Last month, I came here to ask for help on how to get my Blackout hub into a niche. I've took your advice to make it better and send it to Dengarden's niche site. I sent it out this past Sunday--it came back declined yesterday. So I'm asking again here for you guys to point me in a new direction to...

I have finally published a hub that has been deemed unfeatured. I can only direct my attention to a table I inserted which was long when viewed on the mobile platform. Grammar is checked, titles tweaked, content is solid as its in the same vein as my other articles. Do you think this could be it?...

It has been a long time since I published here, and I have forgotten the process.I have a recently published hub, (5 days ago), that exited pending with that Dreaded Black Circle - Not Featured - Quality. (I do have other Featured hubs)I don't see any indicators of why, or what to fix, and I don't...

Hi? This is my third article for Hubpages, but it didn't make the cut. I honestly thought I'd rectified the mistakes made in the first two. I would really appreciate some insight on where I went wrong so that I can improve. Hubpages has not availed the specifics, they just say it did not pass the...
