What is the Literal Translation of Heaven?

With so many translations, what is the literal translation of Heaven?

    Which heaven?

The first, (sky) second (space) or third heaven (The Father's realm)?

The Kingdom of Heaven as written in Matthew's account is elsewhere written in the other three Gospels as The Kingdom of God which will be here on this earth with The Lord ruling for a thousand years. Notice, it is the Kingdom OF heaven, not the Kingdom IN Heaven. No one is going to heaven.

There will then be a new heaven and new earth brought down OUT OF heaven by The Father when and where He will make His home with mankind.

There are three distinct levels of glory. Heaven for all of us will depend on our love for Heavenly Father and our  deeds here on earth.

The heaven I know now is a roast chicken dinner with mashed potatoes and gravey, corn, fruit salad, and pie. Then sharing this bounty with my family. Followed by a secret wink from my wife. Peace.

The New Testament Greek word for "heaven" is ouranos, which literally means covering or that which encompasses the earth. So it basically means what is above you. Take your pick of words or phrases to insert instead of heaven to get a more literal meaning: up there, above, sky, etc. The word "heaven" is from the Old English heofon, which means home of God or sky.

    There are three heavens
    http://hubpages.com/hub/Heaven-is-Divine-and-Real

    1) The first heaven is "Rakia" - the atmospheric heaven - the place where the clouds form, the atmosphere around the earth.

    2) The second heaven is "Shamayim" - the starry heaven - the solar system.

    3) The third heaven is "Shemi Hashamyim" where God dwells - the Eternal Realm.

    My Dear Sweet Friends,

Basically, the heavens is the sky and all its parts.  This is not the anwer unto the question.  For us, the question is about the Kingdom of Heaven, or Heaven as where God resides.  This is the question we shall answer.

First, Webster define heaven as a place of perfect living.  To move from a place of imperfect living unto a place of perfect living is regarded as a "reward".  So, the Kingdom of Heaven is a place of perfect living that is a "reward" for those who seek to live a perfect life.

Now we sayest that God is in heaven sitting upon His throne.  And, Jesus told some that the Kingdom of heaven is within ye.  We also know, according unto 1st John 4:8 that God is Love.  Therefore, the heart, where Love emanateth from, is where God resides.  His throne is therefore in the heart.

So, if God is sitting in our hearts upon His throne, then the Kingdom of Heaven is within the hearts of all mankind.  This Kingdom is to be established upon all the Earth according unto Jesus by the repentance of all.  That is the turning our hearts from hatred unto Love, Which Is God.

We canst establish heaven upon all the Earth by expressing unconditioned Love one unto another.  Is not this the message of the Christ?  If our world is perfected by the Love of all men one unto another without fail, surely this is the Kingdom of Heaven.  This is a world, a Kingdom that is ruled by Love.
