If I had to choose it would be World of Warcraft.  The game has a depth and near-universal appeal that is designed with solid writing, graphics, sound, animation, humor, and game mechanics.  I would caution you that its level of quality and massive amount of content, most of which I'll never see, could make the game very time-consuming and absorbing.

If you like something funky, simple and enjoyable, look for Cosmic Wimpout at GameTableOnline.

I think the games that make you use your brains. It  really helps .. The word  games  keep your volcabulary growing and your spelling  gets better and better. Its so awesome to start  beating someone you couldnt  beat before.Next thing you know, your in the top 30 highest rating score. So my vote would be WordScape from IWin.com

Right now, for myself, I can't wait to get back into another game of Armies Of Gielinor, found on www.funorb.com.  The game is a turn-based strategy based off of their original game, Runescape (which is great itself).  The reason why this game is so good is it has a very appealing range of combat strategy and most of the time players start on a level ground.  The best part is that the strategy can get intense very quickly and planning your next moves becomes extremely exciting, turn after turn!  If you go try it out, make sure to complete the tutorial before heading into the multiplayer lobby, it's really worth the learning experience and prevents headaches early on in versus play.  I give it 9.6 out of 10!

It would really depend on what kind of game it is that you're looking for. Are you interested in controlling your own land and conquering others? If so, then a RTS (or Real Time Strategy) would probably interest you. Do you enjoy working together as a team in a war or battle type of setting? Then a FPS (or First Person Shooter) is right up your alley. Or do you want to take Dragons, Giants, Demons, and other type of monsters, head on? Then you might want to consider an RPG (or Role Playing Game).

Even in each genre, there are a few options of what kind of game to play. If you have the time to devote to leveling up a character, then choose a game that has a lower XP gain (Experience Point). If you want to play something on a more casual basis, choose something with an even level learning curve.

One game isn't "better" or "worse" than another, just different in what it offers its players. So you really do have to ask yourself "What kind of gamer am I?" and "What is it I really want to get out of my game time?" Once you answer those two, you can narrow down your options to find something you will truly enjoy.

It is really tough to answer this question, as human likings differ from person to person. A game which I like most may not be liked by another person.

Eg. I am an Online Poker game freak, but my bf is a Slots freak.

But, if you ask my personal view then I must say that Online Poker is MY GAME.

Reason of my liking of Online Poker:
    1. It does not depend upon LUCK alone.
    2. Skills are very much important for playing this game.
    3. Risk of losing money is not as high as fully LUCK-based games like Slots, Keno, Bingo, Lottery, etc.

Due to this liking on Online Poker, I have also created a Hubpage on Poker Basics. You may have a look http://hubpages.com/hub/Poker-Basics

Snooker is my choice. It gives me a lot of pleasure and enough time to concentrate on playing. Though it takes a lot of time to complete a game, it is quite interesting one.

It will have to be World of Warcraft as:

    1. There's a huge complexity of spells and rotations you can use

    2. There's PE as well as PVP

    3. You can be a healer or damage or tank - so suits all personalities, not just blood and guts type people!

    4. You can play with friends

    5. You can wear special gear and look great!

World of Warcraft is the best online game ever. I played Everquest for 5 years then the first time I logged into WoW I saw the graphics, logged out of the game and canceled my Everquest account and never looked back. Been playing WoW for almost 6 years now. WoW is great because you can solo (fight monsters) from level 1 to level 80 if you don't like playing with groups.

MMO: WoW and LOTRO. Two fabulous games. WoW is very polished and has mass appeal, LOTRO is stunning for an MMO with great Lore and feel.

RTS: Anything Command and Conquer, Starcraft. CNC had a good hand in starting fast paced online RTS gaming and large community, same with Starcraft. Both have good number of fans, players and content. Starcraft II is probably the most polished RTS I've seen in over 5 years, very solid.

FPS: MW2. Great maps, lots of players, ability to upgrade weapons as well as a Co-op two player mode.
Other mentionables are Counterstrike (just cause its classic fast paced and fun big_smile), Team Fortress, zany, fun.

StarCraft 2 is the best online game.  It takes the greatest amount of skill to master it and SC2 tournaments have the biggest professional group of player who actually make money.
