I have only got 2 signups and no hubs.written by them
So I was wondering Is there already, or could there be a way of hubpages sending the ones that join and do not write hubs a reminder to say
"Welcome to Hubpages, we notice that you havent written anything, and encourage you to hop on the band waggon and start writing, to earn a few cent s
or something similar. Would that be possible. Simpy sent me a similar email last week.asking if I needed help.
Perhaps we could do something simular. I wrote this before but it was on the bottom of a different topic.
2 signups is not much. Of course it depends on how you recruited them. But if you don't know who they are anonymous recruits. I have such 55 anonymous recruits and pretty guess that only one may be active so if you only got 2 ...
You don't necessarily have to recruit people to sign up. I've only "recruited" one hopefully two soon people, and I have 42 signups, which is still only a few.
Eillen, since we don't know who we recruited it can be hard to have conversation with them, but the HubPage team does know who they are. They are the only ones who can entice them to write for the site. As, relache mentioned an email is sent, but only once, I think.
Just try to get more signups and hopefully they will write and be active. Ask friends and family. When you post links elsewhere, make sure to include the tracking ID.
I do like the idea of the email being sent, but more than likely the person signed up just to post a comment and then that was it. I have a person that frequently asks questions on a few of my hubs, and they have no hubs themselves. He signed up just to post comments and ask questions. I think that many signups do that. Or they'll write one hub and that's it, so the email probably just gets deleted.
There is no way to help downline beacuse one does not know who has signed up under you. However, it takes sometime to new hubbers to understand hubpages.Another problem with new hubbers is of traffic. One hubber signed up under me and published a hub also but this hub have only 10 pageviews for a fortnight. I was puzzled how to help the new hubber. I wrote a hub to help but I could not ensure whether new hubber read it or not?
HubPages does periodically email people who have signed up but not created Hubs yet to invite them to make a Hub.
Thanks, for your replies premsingh, and relache
I t was just a thought of following up on new members. And like you say we can not help them if we dont know who they are.
As they are joining up under us, Why cant we be given the members to help nurture them along ....Hub pages knows who they are otherwise it wouldnt show on our page
DER I already know that 2 signups in nothing.........Thats why I have to get more SOMEHOW. It was just a thought.
Still hoping for more
Well it is enough if you have time to sympathetize with them till they trust you to make you a friend. But that's a lot of energy and an art (called "conversion") I don't have personally at the moment but if you have this talent why not
So, this is a super NOOB question, but what's the benefit/s of signing someone up to hubpages? Is it simply ad sense revenue or are there other benefits?
Obviously adding to the culture of hubpages is a big benefit, but why do some people have a link for others to sign up to hubpages?
I'm obviously missing something here...
I would be curious to know where I would locate a referral url for sign-ups. I have been telling people but just send them to hubpages.com because I didn't realize we could get any credit for referrals. I'll do it whether I get any credit for it or not but I really am curious since the subject was brought up!
Bonnie
I just post links to my articles with a tracking URL. I'm assuming you get credit if someone who comes to HubPages through that link signs up. Of course, I could be wrong.
Thanks, UW. I was reading a post about making the URL trackers and it blew me totally out of the water so I guess I will just stick with what I am doing now. I don't do adsense and stuff so it probably won't make any difference with mine anyway. Out of (about to be) 70 hubs, I only have 1 commercial hub and that is just because of the 1 link I had in it answering a request. But I am happy with the way it is working for me here so I guess that is all that matters, huh? Thanks again!
Bonnie
I think I might have answered my own question, so I'll post the link here:
http://hubpages.com/tour/affiliate/
Apparently one can earn revenue based on how well their referrals do here on hubpages! Just another thing to think about for those of you who are interested, I suppose.
I'm new to all this too, and some of it is confusing, but I think I have the answer to this one.
At the end of each of my posts I write the following message:
If you would like to join hubpages click here. It's free to join, entertaining, educational and there's a great community spirit. You can even earn money from your hubs. I hope you decide to join us.
You can highlight the 'click here' and insert your link (there is a button at the top of the text capsule that enables you to do this).
Insert your tracking code into the following url (don't forget the underscore) and use this as the link:
http://hubpages.com/_mytrackingcode
This will help you to earn revenue from those you have brought to hubpages (provided they earn money themselves). I think it's 10% of what their revenue in their lifetime with hubpages - but I could be wrong!

I've had a few people sign up under my trackers when I send out emails of my hubs, but I was wondering what some of the rest of you have done as far as setting up a more unique way to have friends and family sign up here at hubpages? For some strange reason I don't think my profile link for sign...

It seems that a number of people from HubPages are planning to do Ed Dale's 30 Day Challenge this year, which is all about learning how to use various tools and websites to drive traffic to your website (or Hubs).Ed says it is advisable to work as part of a team. Seeing how many Hubbers have...
