Can men and women have platonic relationships?

non-sexual friendships only! me and friends can't agree on the question of strictly platonic relationships. my men-folk say there is no such thing, guys will wait for a sexual opportunity to arise, but I say yes! I have platonic friendships... at least on my side of the street. So now I'm taking this ponder outwards, what's your take on this? Are the feelings mutual?

Yes, men and women can have strictly platonic relationships, but that's just the simple answer. The truth of the matter is, if the man finds his female "friend" attractive, he will want to sleep with her, but most men will respect boundaries, at least until the woman shows an interest to take it a step further - then all bets are off.

Yes!  Men and women can have a platonic relationship!  As a man, I do currently have a platonic relationship with female friends.  It's about understanding what the relationship is to be from the start.  I have met woman that wanted a platonic relationship with me and I have told them No!  If the attraction factor is too high, it will be very difficult to maintain a platonic relationship.

I think yes, men and women can be CASUAL platonic friends. But if you mean a man and a woman who consider themselves really good friends  who talk all the time, then NO. Because secretly:

One person has not confessed to the other about their true feelings. Or maybe both people have feelings for eachother, but don't want to take the risk.

I believe so. Most of my friends are men, and agree with me that it's very possible to have platonic relationships.
