Boxer puppy which maybe smallest in history need to know what you think?
We have a purebred Boxer that will be 9 weeks old 12/09 and she weighs 1 lb 10 ounces and is only 5 inches high from floor to top of head - maybe. She might be 5-6 inches long. Her parents are normal size 70 lbs and siblings are normal. We got her from owners when she almost died and nursed her back to health. Our Vet does not think she will even weigh 10 lbs when grown. She acts like a normal boxer now but does not bark like normal puppy. She may be smallest in history, who can we contact to make sure sheis a dwarf or what else could be problem.
More than likely, she has a deficiency or something. Have another vet check her out as a second opinion. Personally, if the dog was having that hard of a time when you bought her, you probably shouldn't have picked that pup. The breeder should NOT have sold the pup to you if there was something visibily wrong with it, much less having had to bring the pup back to life. I would not buy from that breeder again, as the breeder doesn't sound very reputable.
There is a chance that the pup may grow normal, but it sounds like the puppy has very bad health and should NEVER have been sold to you by the breeder.
I'm sorry, but I'm not sure what else to tell you. The puppy should not have been sold to you. The breeder should have kept it or adopted it to you, being that it was already having terrible health. More than likely, and I hate to say it, but the puppy may not survive a full adult life.
Wow way to be rude loveallbreeds. Is the dog suffering? If not, then don't worry about it, otherwise put it down. Sorry. Doesn't sound like the breeder knew what he was doing, no responsible owner would have made the pup suffer after it already nearly died. I agree that you should consult a university or something for a better, more professional and experienced opinion. It'll probably never reach full size, and it'll probably never have a full Boxer life. It'll probably be unhealthy it's entire life and will more than likely see the vet more times than you'll be able to count.
I would contact your vet. If she's healthy though, there should be no problem. I would LOVE to have a boxer that small. Enjoy her!

I love my animals, and all of them have either found me, or I have gone to the pound in search of them... No matter how we get them we love them to death! So why do people keep going to breeders? For more on my opinions on this subject check out my best friend here----> Just saying, no breeder...

Do you believe that "puppy mills" should be legal?Do you think they are inhumane? Would you report one to the authorities if you knew that was what they were doing?

Is it ok to have a crush on someone, even if you are happily married?I was telling this to my sister the other day, that it's normal to have crushes on people throughout our lives, even if we are happily married. It's ok to have a crush, but it doesn't mean you have to ACT on it. Am I right?
