Exercise plus proper diet.   Maybe that the most effective way..

Exercising that incorporates some form of resistance training (ie pilates, or weights) and cardiovascular training (stationary bike, running, biking etc). Also, having a balanced  diet consisting of lean protein, complex carbohydrates, and good fats.

Having mentioning that, you need to be consistent with training and diet for effective long term weight loss.

    Cheers

The real solution to effective weight loss is comprised of two basic elements. One element is the program or product you use to lose weight. And the key to that is; not everybody is the same. You have to take responsibility for yourself and determine what type of program or product best suits your successful results.  It took me years to understand that I had a real carb issue. I can only take in about 35 grams of carbs per day in order to lose weight. Most programs or products, have you eating up to 100 grams of carbs per day. When i tried the popular low carb or no carb diets I had another issue. High sodium which triggers a mechanism in me that keeps me from burning fat.  I have found a product that tastes good and has very low carbs, low sodium, low sugar and high quality protein content. It works for me and will work for the many people in the world that are like me. You  can learn more about that product at http://martycrowe.myvi.net  .  But it may not be the right product for you. You have to determine what works for you in the product/program/diet department.

The second element of the real solution to effective weight loss is the mind set of weight loss. I have been working on that for years and offer free coaching at my website http://Every1WinsChallenge.com  You can go there to see what we offer.

The answer to your question is discipline. To have weight loss you have to change your eating and behavior habits to something that will benefit what your trying to accomplish. You need to develop your style of eating that causes weight loss, have the discipline to stick with it and THEN have the discipline to maintain your weight. When you find the style of eating that suits you ( your metabolism ) and has the desired effect of weight loss, and no gain of any weight once your goal is met, discipline will get your there and will keep you on track.Learning about food and how to feed yourself correctly is also very important. However the difference between knowing and doing is the big D - discipline.

Let's face the truth and agree that in this day and age it's tough to lose weight. Yea, it's tough and that's exactly why people don't ever reach their goals or if they do, after a period of time they regain because they don't have the discipline to follow a certain eating regimen regularly. This fact alone dooms most people.

You can make any excuse you want to but that is really what it comes down to. Either your weak or you strong, either you want to succeed or you don't. The secret is discipline.

Fortunately there is plenty of help around to help you succeed but all the help in the world won't get it done for you, YOU have to do it and it takes the big D to get it done.

Effective weight loss can be achieved through self-control and a healthy lifestyle. Always include exercise routines and healthy diet in your daily life. And always drink lots of water everyday. I think that will do.
