Why Do Women Feel Challenged By Men Who Like To Cook?

I have no idea, maybe those women just haven't really tried it! Personally, I love that my husband enjoys cooking and that's one less thing that I have to do. I freely admit to anyone that he's a better cook than I am, and it's more a point of pride and satisfaction than anything else. However, it may also help that we are both well aware of different areas in which each excels, and he is always pointing out things about me that he admires because "he could never do them." Perhaps some women are still hung up on what are "womanly duties" and what are not, and feel like their toes are being stepped on or they're somehow not as valuable in the household when their husband wants to chip in.

Personally, I don't feel challenged. In fact, I would be happy to know a guy like that. I'm sure most of my female friends would be happy too.

I don't believe women do.  A man helping out around the house - including doing the cooking would be readily welcomed by most women!

My mum taught me to cook when I was 5, in 1953:-) she said, 'you're not going to be another useless man.'  She wasn't referring to my dad, just a sexist remark about men in general.  I've been cooking ever since, and I'm good, and I've never been with a woman who felt threatened by that, or with one that can cook better than me.  I do the skilled bit, I don't do the skivvying, rather, I didn't have to, my wife is disabled now so I do the lot, the way things go.

I dont know any woman like this. My girlfriend loves when i cook for her and i love doing it. Im not a particularly skilled cook but im adequate enough to make something edible.
In my experience women like men who like helping around the house and being able to cook for a woman is a very romantic thing to do.

I don't think women feel challenged by male cooks. I'd like to believe that many even like that men who do that because that means they'd be good partners in managing the household, particularly in feeding the family.
