I just created my first hub, can you look at it and give me some things to work on? This is the first time I have tried anything like this so...hoping for the best!
I have written a series of 3 hub series for Newbies!
It will be most probably helpful for you & your hubs
Regards
Welcome Toastiebear! Your Hub looks good, but I'm sorry to tell you that recipe Hubs don't usually earn very well. Just ask Mark Knowles, who's very successful with his other Hubs but not with his foodie ones.
However, that doesn't mean they're not welcome, and you sound like you have some good ideas to share. Here are some tips:
1. Split your text up over several capsules to make it easier to play around with your layout.
2. Add a photo or two. You can do an advanced search on Flickr, clicking on "Creative Commons" and "content you can use commercially" and you can use any photos that come up, provided you include a thank-you to the photographer and a hyperlink to their photostream on your Hub somewhere.
The photo doesn't have to be of your completed recipe - think laterally! It could be a pic of a tin of tomatoes or a fresh potato.
Darkside has some great Hubs on how to Hub, they're worth seeking out.
Thanks so much! Its pretty late over here, and it was the first Hub I could think of. I am going to keep going with the "Food" hubs though, I have some ideas on crossing great food with an even better budget, and I have a passion for it, so maybe I will succeed. Either way I will have fun doing it. I appreciate your comments and advice It really helps! I'm off to flickr!
You've already given yourself the best advice - write what you are passionate about. I would add to the other comments that your hubs will be read by people world-wide and some things may not be as obvious to readers as you may think. For instance, I was raised in the American Midwest so I am familiar with Aldi, but many readers will not be.
Recipe hubs will not lead to commercial success, but they're a good way to get started in learning the process.
Best of luck.
Toastiebear, I may have to eat my words. I don't know anyone who's done well with recipe Hubs, but lrohner has a foodie blog and does very well with it - so there is money to be made if you do it the right way. Maybe it has to be more than just recipes. Good luck anyway!
Welcome to HubPages toastiebear. Write about what you enjoy and what interests you, and maybe occasionally write a hub aimed at making money? There are loads of good Hubs if you search on money making on HubPages.

I received notification that my hub "How to Make the World's Best Scrambled Eggs" http://hubpages.com/food/How-to-Make-th … ambled-Egg is eligible to be moved to Delishably. However I have been advised by the moderator who reviewed my hub to get rid of my poetry and move it...

Should I remove the Ratngs Capsule from my non-recipe Hubs?I read somewhere that we should include a "rating " capsule to our Hub (NOT a recipe), asking readers to rate your Hub. Now I just read in the Learning Center the Rating capsule should NOT be used for that purpose. It...

Every morning I open up HubPages, my feed is spammed with recipe hubs. Why is this? And why all of a sudden?

I was thinking to share more of Recipe hubs but I was wondering, whether is it worth or not?Recipe hubs are successful or not? How response it is getting after it's maturity period? Is it worth investing time in it? Is it getting good traffic after months?

I published my first recipe hub tonight, and while it's still in QA, I thought I would ask if those recipe hub experts out there would review it for me. I looked at several recipe hubs, and I took some ideas from them. Let me know where I can improve as I hope to make a few more in the...

Are recipe hubs expected to be 700-1200 words? This seems excessive for a recipe hub yet my recipe template appears to have this as a goal. It seems odd that the word count should be the same as an article Hub. In other words, would my Hub score be compromised for writing a 300-500 word recipe...
