I guess so. The obstacles that one encounters over the period of his/her life have a tendency to harden the person which in turn creates a fear pyschosis where one questions when would this end. If this prolongs or the frequency of happening is higher it takes the toll on the individual.

I could definitely see where you could make that argument. Some people do fear living, yes. Some people are afraid of every little thing, and spend their time obsessed with all the bad things that could happen. I think I am more afraid of death, however, because it is still a mystery. No one knows exactly what will happen after we die, and that scares me. Life isn't as scary because even though there are some things that are unknown about life, I still feel as if I have some control over it.

my pen's movement assumed that people are more afraid of living then dying.   I started to question not the premise but the definitions for the terms, "Life" or "Death," which would greatly effect how I would even answer the question.  I found that... read more

Yes, it is absolutely veritable. Even Shakespeare once said that, "cowards die many times before their death, the valient never taste of death but once."

All people fear that which they do not know, that which remains a mystery to them, therefore many fear death.

I fear neither having lived 62 years of hardship and suffering, life holds no special excitement for me, unless I was to win a milloiondollars in some lottery.

On the other hand I know that when I die, I will be returning home to My Father God and my brothers Jesus and Holy Spirit and we will all rejoice and celebrate my return.

I'll pick death over life any old time!
    Brother Dave.

I can see where people could fear living expecially if they were being mistreated or were in fear of loosing their life.  I really don't fear either.  I know that when I die that I will go to heaven and as I live on this earth without the fear of death I can live life to the fullest without fear.  I have a zeal for life and want to spend my life living it to the fullest for my God.  With that said I do not have time to fear, just to live.

I have heard it said, spiritually, that all fear is the fear of death. But my biggest fear used to be to be alive, but in prison or ill, and unable to give love and share. Now I have healed that fear.

I believe we can heal our fears. All fears are either the fear of the death of the body, or the fear of some experience. Why fear the future? Let us live now, in joy and power. Let's dance this life!
