Question No 2
Why is it that only historians bother about the past ???
I think the clue to the answer is in your question ....
By their very nature Historians are not terribly interested in the future and the presentisn't old enough yet.
Because we need to know where we came from...where we are now...and where we are going. The matter of it is .We heed to know more than we know now in order to take bigger steps.
That time have come.
Because, some don't like to address their own past and or try to sift out the truth behind events they would rather not think about. Historians aren't the only ones but there are some who are capable of looking at the matter detachedly or at least are so into the subject for whatever reason that they are willing to address any surprises they find.
It's not that the rest of us aren't bothered about the past, it's just that historians don't seem to think about much else.
I do a lot of research into the past and I also look into the future - um, not literally or I'd get the lottery numbers for Saturday - and consider the possibilities.
So what does that make me?

I am a community college history teacher, and I have found that it can be tricky to discuss recent historical events. It is difficult, after all, to know which recent events and trends will ultimately matter. So what do you think that future history books will discuss when covering 1990-2010?

If God is omni present and knows the past ,present, and future, then why would he test us when...he already knows the outcome of our actions?
