I never agreed with that cliche. I've always preferred my men on the short side.

Don't women always go for the "bad boy" tall dark and hansome, and then when they can't change him , they get real , too late for the good guys though, now everyones tired of waiting......lol.

beign a fraction under 6' (179.5cm)and ALL my friends being shorter than me. tall men are more apealing and attractive to me, and when i'm with tall men, it gives the me feeling of someone to be protected by.. it also makes me feel more like a woman instead of being taller than the guys which i really hate. i've been out with short guys, and it does absolutely nothing for me. friends on the other hand, doesn't matter height size or shape.. a relationship, i have to feel feminine, and i can't do that when i'm around short men all the time.

the men taller women shorter thing goes back to the caveman days, the man being the bearer of strength and protection.. women who are feminine like to feel protected by their mate and like to look up to him physically and mentally. althugh in modern society.. in many cases this is still the way, but many, have lost the femininity and gone for the absolute opposite being the masculine of the partnership.. those that have a balance, are actually men taller and women shorter, slightly shorter or the same height... men that are shorter than their women, usually rely more on her for strength in the relatiiosnship.

it is a rare quality to have the reverse work,, women taller men shorter.

As someone whose 5"4, most guys I've met are taller than me but I don't go for guys because there tall they just happen to be taller than me. But I suppose some girls feel a need to go for tall guys as then they can be more of a protector and make the girl feel cared for and smaller like tradition says a girl should be. Also with my experience some guys who are shorter than average height or even average height tend to have an attitude about it, and with my ex who was 5"7 so still tall in my eyes, it became an issues especially as my ex before him was 6"2 when he found that out it became insane the amount of tmes it was mentioned or brought up in arguments.

I think short guys are awesome 'cause I'm so short that tall guys are hard to hug and kiss, however either or is ,they have their pluses and minuses.

I used to only date guys that were taller than me and I realized that height ain't everything because my boyfriend now is about 2 inches shorter than me and maybe we look funny to people but you know what his heart makes up for his stature. He takes better care of me than any other man I have dated, he supports me in whatever I want to do, and loves me for all of my flaws as well as my good traits. It does not matter how short or tall a good guy is because their heart should be all that matters.
Most girls date taller guys because it is how it is "supposed" to be in  whoever's book. Just like tall guys date shorter girls for the same reason. Some genius decided to make this the "rule", Well I threw that rule out the window and got me a damn good, short, guy and I couldn't love him more.

I am attracted to tall men maybe because I am tall, but height does not matter anymore when you just learned to like a person

Easy, I'm 5"7" - so with heels on, I need a tall man. But my Husband is 6'3" so I'm okay. I always wished I was, like 5'3". Our youngest son is 15, and he's 6'3" already. (I'm kinda worried) LOL

Even on a subconscious level, women prefer tall men, it is one of the signs of virility. Women prefer certain smells on a man, the hormone level in sweat for example. I wish women did like short men, I'm 5'4" and have not embraced my vertical handycap.

Maybe it has something to do with physical power and dominance and whatnot. The whole primal instinct for a strong man and all that, haha.
