For me, God is the same as a higher consciousness, a higher dimension, contained in everything I see, a unifying field that connects everything with each other. It is liquid love and it has none of the typical "human" traits, no jealousy, no greed, no need for revenge, no insecurity or other negative emotion.

All these are just ingredients for us to play with as long as we are here, in this physcial environment, before we go back to where we stem from and to what we were all along, parts of this all-embracing unifying field.

God/Universe/Source is eternal harmony and expansion and does really turn a blind eye to our "human games", since they are not in harmony with our true nature.

These are very similar to my own beliefs Dorothee-Gy. Thanx for answering this query, without an opinionated slant.

If two bunches of human monkeys are having a fight, the bunch that believes in god is bound to win because they fear death less.

In this way the non god believing monkeys get wiped out within a generation and only the believers survive.

If those victorious monkeys then turn on each other and torture or burn to death all dissenting or heretical individuals, within decades they have established "purity".

That's the God gene. When they discover it, scientists will find it firmly attached to the violence gene.

You're dead right. It is necessary to believe, or at least to say you do because there's always a bunch of righteous red necks waiting in the wings to string you up.

God is a crutch for the weak, invested in keeping them weak.

god is something that people invented to help with the fear of death . it's also a way to control other in the church. religion is a great way to make money also. basically, god is whatever a group needs it to be.
