What is God? Is God only there for those who believe? Why do we need to think there is one or many?
just your thoughts on this subject... I'm going to write on the necessity of believing in an almighty... thanx
For me, God is the same as a higher consciousness, a higher dimension, contained in everything I see, a unifying field that connects everything with each other. It is liquid love and it has none of the typical "human" traits, no jealousy, no greed, no need for revenge, no insecurity or other negative emotion.
All these are just ingredients for us to play with as long as we are here, in this physcial environment, before we go back to where we stem from and to what we were all along, parts of this all-embracing unifying field.
God/Universe/Source is eternal harmony and expansion and does really turn a blind eye to our "human games", since they are not in harmony with our true nature.
These are very similar to my own beliefs Dorothee-Gy. Thanx for answering this query, without an opinionated slant.
Embracing the "ALL" and ridding ourselves of crippling "EGO" - by this realization we are on our WAY - A journey of healing and losing the insanity of the world's view.

What Is GOD? Well this is only an opinion, as well everyone will have one here even if they say they do not.
GOD is The very Top Dog in the pack. He is not a god, but in fact The GOD. He is above and beyond Time/Space and the Comprehension of any... read more
If two bunches of human monkeys are having a fight, the bunch that believes in god is bound to win because they fear death less.
In this way the non god believing monkeys get wiped out within a generation and only the believers survive.
If those victorious monkeys then turn on each other and torture or burn to death all dissenting or heretical individuals, within decades they have established "purity".
That's the God gene. When they discover it, scientists will find it firmly attached to the violence gene.
You're dead right. It is necessary to believe, or at least to say you do because there's always a bunch of righteous red necks waiting in the wings to string you up.
god is something that people invented to help with the fear of death . it's also a way to control other in the church. religion is a great way to make money also. basically, god is whatever a group needs it to be.

Without delving into a lot of deep studying on the origins of words, I'll make a suggestion. Could it be that Jesus was redefining what God is when He called Himself the Son of Man?THink about it: He often referred to God as His Father, right? And then He refers to Himself as the Son of Man....

Atheists: What Do you believe in?Everybody believes in something, whether it be spiritual or something else. Instead of people constantly trashing them for what they don't believe, maybe you'll be surprised in what they do believe. These are good people with different ideas. Give them a...

I struggle with Calvinism. When I meet Calvinists though, I can't help but see Jesus!I struggle with Calvinism because of the predetermination. I believe in free will BUT Calvinism believes God has chosen whom he has chosen out of grace. But that leads to my question, where is the...

Salvation is free for all, regardless of your religion, faith, country of origin, your ethnicity, cast, creed or your language, it is free for all. Jesus paid the price. Just believe that Jesus came to this world, died for our sin and resurrected on the third day. He paid the...

If a hospital was built that only offered prayer, how would those who believe in prayer respond?Would they be faithful, and go, or would they be forced to use their reason, and seek REAL modern medical cures and treatment? But, then, what would this say about their faith?
