Good question, now lets see if any of the people that make it difficult will give you an answer.  As for the cancer part I can't answer that but as for death that is part of life as well as comes with the territory.  In life there is something called balance as well as opposite.  So once you've lived you must.......die

it's not. sure there are ups and downs but in general life is pretty good for most.what i think is happening is many people want more then they are willing to work for or they take even the smallest upsets to heart.

there is tragedy and death to better put perspective on your own life. Death is not something to fear but appreciate. I have sat by many sides while they have passed away and it is beautiful to hear those last whispers that they lived a great life and they are happy to go and watch over those they love. Even those who have done horrible things in their life find it nessecary to leave a last apology or sorry and tear for there misdoings. Death is in a sense of leaving but not in whole. It is also about releasing and continuing on somewhere else. about leaving behind a legacy of sorts. Yes those left behind by a loved one cry and feel the deep sadness of not beign able to have that person in a physical sense but you still have memories and therefore they never are truly gone.
besides life is what you make it regardless of what hardships come your way.

There have been times I have asked the same question:  Why Is Life So Hard?  At the end of the movie Amistad, I felt so relieved for the Africans who were finally returning to their home after all they had been through.  They couldn't wait to see their family and friends again and to live at home in their communities again.  But when they got off the ship and saw the devastation there and their families and friends nowhere to be found, that was just too much.  I cried at the end of the movie, on the way home, and for over an hour on my bed afterwards.

I wish I could tell you I now have the answer to why life is so hard.  But I don't.  I'm not sure we'll have that answer until after our souls transition from our human bodies to what comes after.  I can tell you, though, that I have learned to say Yes to living & Yes to God even though so many difficult questions like this one are bigger than any answers we can understand now.  I also feel free to express my upset and outraged thoughts and feelings to God - and others who will listen without judgment - when I'm seeing my own life - or others' lives - as too hard.  Doing that helps me move to a more peaceful, accepting place.

I invite anyone who thinks that life isn't so hard for most people to learn a more global perspective.  Look at the statistics for if the world were a village of 100 people.  It's very sobering.  You can Google "if the world were a village of 100" and find the statistics in PowerPoint presentations, YouTube, and articles.  The detailed portrayals paint a clearer picture.  We, in North America, are incredibly privileged and much better off in many ways than the majority of people in the world.  And, still, life can feel too hard for us at times.

Through suffering the human spirit grows stonger and life lessons are learned. Hopefully we are humbled and brought closer to the great Divine..If it was easy we would be weak and take the good things for granted. It sucks, believe me I know. But be strong and tough it, out show what your made of.

Mainly because, if life was easy than you would get bored easily and your question on hub pages would have been, "Why is life so easy?"
