   Has anyone ever had a Tarot Card reading and was it accurate?
   
   I actually had one a while ago, just for a laugh and wasn't going to take it too seriously. I didn't give one bit of information away about myself or why I was there, but the cards seemed to know a LOT about my current life and situations. It was so intriguing.

   My first reading was so accurate, I became a professional reader myself. People don't understand you have to learn the meanings of 78 cards, and the reverse meanings, which are not always just the opposite. Plus there are hundeds of decks! You must take courses, which are expensive and take time. And you need years of practice, as there are many different layouts and many kinds of readings. You need psychic ability and confidence in your own abilities. I'm happy your experience was a positive one! Normally a "naysayer" will come along with the person who wants the reading, but they want to sit in and listen. I won't let them, because if they think they are going to expose a learned person as a fraud, I don't want their negative energies in the room!

   Thanks for your answer Jean! Well I'm very open minded, and quite spiritual, but I was initially iffy about the Tarot Cards. That changed though!
   To be honest I'd love to be able to read Tarot Cards, wish somebody would teach me.

   Well technically when you interpret tarot cards there is no accurate answer because it's all in the interpretation and how it means to you depending on what question you were asking, or what outcome you were searching for.
   As for being taught, the only thing that can be shown to you is what they mean and how the interact with each other, and the rest is up to you.

   With all due respect to the other posters, you don't need to take courses.
   
   Learn it on your own. Read books. Start with learning the major arcana (22 cards). Learning the tarot takes time and will enhance your intuition quickly.
   
   Learn the reversed positions and the Celtic cross spread. That is the classic spread positioning.
   
   Although I started years ago, I'm still learning. Learning tarot is very complex and will take you on a journey...much better than learning a new language!
   
   Best of all, you will be able to do readings on yourself and gain a "relationship" to your guides, just be sure to pray beforehand for protection so that no evil comes in.

   Yes, I used to have similar doubts like you when I was forced to meet a Tarot Card reader in party just for fun. I was amazed all the predictions came true within three month....

   Yes, Some are good and others are just scams. People like my wife fall easy into it. last month she went to someone that had this big thing about how She claimed to be in for 25 year as tarot intuitive reader, studies in Quantum Physics, and a list of other things. My wife went to her and she feed her all kinds of fake stuff. she said a couple of things that had been way off.My wife did give some things to her and it allowed her to try more.
   I had enough of her paying for this stuff and looked into this Woman Liane Langford and her so called history, it was very short and was for back at all and her list of entertaining and some other things. I just needed my wife to see that not all of them are for real and she needs to really think about her next time she goes to one of these events and maybe stick to local well known people in our big City.

   I agree with Jean! I have studied for 30 years for my psychic abilities, and there is always one person that sits before you, with this Im gonna get ya look in their eyes with no knowledge of what it takes or even know what a spirit guide does, and of course I have had clients that will literally shut down and not let me in at all, a very famous medium friend of mine refuses at fairs to read for such individuals! and in this age of technology it seems more and more like a which hunt......I thought the burning times were over:) for those who read this post try to remember we are not perfect ......but pretty close....

   I'm involved in the entertainment industry and have known Liane Langford the psychic, that has been the subject of some commentary below, and after this was brought to my attention, I felt compelled to state a few facts concerning Liane, her training and abilities as a psychic.
   
   Liane has read for me numerous times over the past 6 years and I have always, without exception found her readings and insights to be easily 90% accurate. Liane brings a hip, fun approach to the psychic table which is easily discernible to any and all of her clients.
   
   I see in the posts below that she has been branded a fraud? It's nice to know that the internet has provided a soap box for the ignorant, let alone those who cannot spell or grammatically compose a legible sentence.
   
   In the past, Liane has been the focus of jealous attention. I suppose for someone who possesses the beauty and ability that she does, some of that is to be expected.
   
   Liane, ignore the ignorance of the slobbering masses and continue to do you work...

    There seems to be alot of debate over the possibilty of doing tarot card reading over the internet and even the authenticity of a tarot reading being possible or accurate.
    I feel invoked to shed some light on this debate from someone who has used and seen tarot work magic over the last twenty years.
    Tarot, magic and metaphysics have been around for yonks. They have been a significant part of ancient lifetyles, cultures and communities; bringing lucid insight, useful information and have impacted social, industrial and ecological progress, in periods long forgotten.
    They are not such a mystery, have been around for years and there is ample historical article and documentary to validate this.
    Quantum physics, spritual leaders and common people alike have demonstrated over many centuries the posibilities and even evidence of unexplainable phenomena. We do not have to know each other or have met each other to be able to step into or tap into energy that we are all connected by.
    We accept common occurances of insight and telepathy (for example, when we are thinking of someone and they call or arrive at your door step) as coincedence.
    Tarot will always tell you what you need to know. It usually shows past actions/situations/images, current consequnces and future occurances/events based on the prior and/or current directions/situations surrounding you. It is not limited to this. But, often this is how it works to guide you – as this is the simplest method for us to understand sufficintly what it is trying to convey.
    Reading tarot will pick up energies that have and are forming and the natural progress of these energies as they move into the future. However, ALWAYS, free will can effect your future. Generally if I see something specific happen in a reading it eventualises in the persons life.
    The small amounts of time this has not happened, the person has changed the course of action by advise and guidance that has come up in the reading.
    It may be that the Tarot cards will not forecast your future. Your future is not alway set in stone. Depending on the choices and decisions you make. it is possible to change a probable outcome or future event.

    I was lucky enough to have my cards read by a truly gifted woman who inspired me to learn to read the tarot. Books will guide someone, but it's truly a gift that takes years to develop, at least for me. I know for a fact that the cards do speak. Although most people in the know warn against self readings, I don't feel right practicing on others. I find that when I ask the same question more than once, no matter how many times I shuffle, many of the same cards pop up.

    I was a non beliver of tarot and oracles to me it was all bs. I was invited to a baby shower quite a few years back. They had a reader there at the party. I knew alot about some of the girls there and we stand around and watch. I kept asking there must be a trick to this shes getting ques from there body language or faces. It was my turn. I went over and grabed one of the girls scarfs and placed over my face. I sat very still. All I asked was what was going to be happening in the next few years. I was told my mom was searching for family to tell her not to give up that she was close.I was also told that my sister would become pregnate when i herd that i got flashes of kids trick or treating. she said mid october. I was told that the reason I had lost my job was that I was going to get a better on working with my hands.
    
    well my mom found her sisters a month after this reading. my sister had goten pregnate in october
    3months after her reading I got a good paying job in a bakery making cakes and bread working with my hands.
    
    I really believe there are real oracles out in the world and fake fortune tellers.

    My father's third wife did some Tarot readings on me, and they seemed to be accurate.  I believe that was for 2 reasons:  1) She knew me quite well, and 2) the readings are so vague, they could easily fit anyone.

    I give tarot readings and I lay spreads out for myself frequently.  What I love is that the symbolism and imagery can fit with almost amy personal circumstance.  When I give readings, I never want to know what it is the person is seeing me for.  Then we can explore the answers together.  Sometimes the cards reveal an entirely different scenario, but one that fits with another challenge in the person's life they have not recognized.  It's not a straightforward answer, but I hope it helps.

    Yes have had quite a few, also by other methods like crystal ball. To start with most of them were rubbish, then there was a good one who died. But the one I stick with is very good, has helped me a lot over the years. She is at webclairvoyant.com
