Can someone find God if he or she doesn't believe, first, that He exists? Is this the meaning of:
Hebrews 11:6
Now without faith it is impossible to please God, for the one who draws near to Him must believe that He exists and rewards those who seek Him.
GOD is the one who draws people to himself to know and walk with him moment by moment. Example: on August 1, 1982 A.D. a Sunday morning GOD in a vision shown me the other side of death. It is glorious. GOD knows every person heart and motivation and I am glad GOD chosen me for the mission that I am fulfilling now through hubpages and google adsense. GOD is the one to give faith to human beings just like he given me a vision of the other side of death. I did not seek for this vision from GOD but he given it to me because he has a special purpose and mission for my life that I am fulfilling now to the glory of GOD.
In my opinion these are separate issues. Finding God is possible for all, despite original beliefs we come to know Him as our relationship matures and our understanding grows.
Pleasing God through faith comes as our reliance and dependence on Him grows and we become confident in His abilities to bless us.
Say it like this. You are having problems as a teen. Your parents taught you the ways to go, but you have a question. Do you call and ask for guidance ? That's faith. That they will continue to love and guide your path.
So is following what you were taught which is to rely upon what you have been taught. Confidence that we have taken the path shown is our proof of faith. The more we worry and fret the less faith we show, all things are possible for those who love Him...
There have been cases reported ,although very few, which document God reaching out to individuals before they came to Him with their faith.I know of an agnostic who attended church only because he liked to participate in group singing, not because he believed in the words he sang. One Sunday he suddenly decided to become a Christian when he saw a vision of Jesus just standing in the aisle staring at him for several minutes. The Bible states that some are predestined for salvation because God selects them instead of them selecting God and this obviously was one such case.
I am not a really religious man but I do have some beliefs and perspectives. First and foremost, I believe that our relationship with God is an indivdual thing...not a group thing. Don't tell me I have to be a Baptist, Methodist, or Catholic to have a relationship with God...He never made that requirement. Secondly, as humans, we have the ability to apply faith. It is not easy but it is easy something that we can do. Faith is the commonality to all religion...no matter who your God...we have faith that God wanted us here and that he will provide for us. At the same he, he has expectations which we need to live up to in his eyes. God does reward those who seek him but don't expect to be next Saturday night's lottery winner in the process. The reward comes in a manner that maybe you are the only one who realizes it...feels the warmth of it...the kindness and ultimately the power of it. If you really want to find the meaning of God, you must find that personal relationship with Him and apply it to the rest...there's no church in town that will do that for you...or can for that matter. WB
The fact that you have asked this question tells me that you believe in God. If you did not why would you question his existance. The quote in Hebrews 11:6 says it with perfection.
You have to believe that God exists before you can find Him. It is through the tugging in your heart that you come to realize that you have a need for something missions. If you follow through with your search and seek help from others who are believers then you too can come into a relationship withChrist Jesus as your Savior.
Ms. Dee: What a question? I am reminded of a famous story that is legend in the world of " how God will reveal himself ". As the story goes the Astro Physisist by the name of Dr. Carl Sagan once wondered if he could prove " Divine Intervention " or disprove it with math in regards to the forming of the solar system. I personally did not read this, but I do know someone that did and I have heard this story at several Revival type of meetings. They both told me he wrote of this in one or two of his books and I did see his testimonial once on video tape.
So Carl wakes up one morning and decideds to run these numbers. The question was " Could the Universe have been created without Divine Intevention?". Could their have been a massive explosion that left the earth in the exact rotation needed to sustain human life or animal life? What are the odds that their was a live cell to begin all life form on earth? Keep in mind we now have over 1 billion species of insect, 1 billion plants and millions of different species of animals, birds, fish, ocean creatures, not to mention humans. What are the odds that all this happened without Divine Intervention?
The odds of winning the powerball back when Carl passed away was 1 in 156,000,000 of winning it all. Carl said you would have better odds of winning the Powerball daily for 200,000 years that of this all happening without a Divine Creator. Pretty compelling huh? Carl went from being an Athiest to becoming a Christian because of math.
Nearly all of your DNA Scientist today are religious in some form. The reason? Because the Scientist have determined that DNA cannot mutate. In other words the theory that we evolved from Frogs has been officially debunked.....
Science and Math have proven there is something, somewhere. Now go find him, he will welcome you with open arms. May God richly bless you and I do pray you find your answers. You have my email, feel free to email me and I will be happy to visit with you if you like.....Ken
I am glad to hear and am helped by your shared thoughts as I consider those whom I know who say they cannot just drum up faith on their own. It is encouraging to think that finding God is possible for all, even if he must first reach out, drawing us to choose to receive the seed of faith to believe that he exists. It is intriguing to consider how our free will to choose and the merciful drawing of God, both of which are gracious gifts, work together.
No one can find god, god can not be missing or lost. But one can find their self in the idea of god and the belief in god is not a prerequisite.
From the Christian perspective: the Holy Spirit does all the work and the person simply answers the ever present knocking at the door.
This Hebrews version, placing the Precondition of Belief, in God, as the means, of Pleasing God ... In, the Applied, means:
That all of us, do unconditionally Believe in our Creator ... God, because, in the heart of our hearts we know, He Exists ...
That the Hebrews, or anyone else's proclaiming, is in the creating of a Special god ...
To Please God, means ... we are all humans, we are all equal, that we should Believe in only One Almighty God, Whom, we can Please, by our Humane Actions ... and annoy, by our Inhuman Wrongs.
Thus, we can see, Science, has chosen the Wrong Path to God ... Although it can rarely please its own god, that needs to be first Proven, to Exist, by human experimentations.
But their misfortune is ... When they Behold The Truth ... they deny, it in the Wrong of their False Beliefs !
The Lord, Rewards all those, who do Good. The Creator of the Universe, and the Heavens, Is indeed a Just Creator.

My mother's currently on the road for work, and I gave her a call this morning to check on her. She starts the conversation out by reminding me of the Christian that I used to be, and this whole conversation becomes about me getting to Heaven... I love my mother dearly, but she seems to be...

why do people find it so hard to believe there is a God? or that there is a supernatural realm? yet we here about demons and supernatural activity and feel a kind of natural drawing towards these things and I guess we dismiss it because we fear the unknown... yet our spirits know its real!!! anyone...

Why is it that people find it so hard to believe in the LORD?Don’t we have proof that he existed through out times, from ancient Jewish religious, Christians & Islam, throughout all walks of life?

I believe in a God not necessarily in what the bible discusses

If nothing can only produce nothing, how did our universe start from nothing without God? There are many unanswered questions in the science and astronomy fields. Since these fields can not have God as an answer, they toss out data that disproves their belief about a Creator. Actually a Creator...
